Others have not been denied flying duty because they wear glasses, the RAF even has regulation spectacles for their pilots to wear. William has been pictured in them. If one wants to join the airforce directly then they are required to have good sight and not wear glasses, but if one joins from another branch of the military (such as William did, he came from the army) then they are permitted to have less than perfect sight. There is this 'side door' which is what William used to get into the airforce, it obviously has been used by others as well for the RAF to specify regulation glasses.

They do in the US Army. Both my sons are excluded until they get their eyesight fixed--which the Army will pay for should they chose to do so. And their eyes are not so bad, negative 1 and negative 1.75

All in all, I think William is doing a good job at these royal duties. It looks like it comes easy for him. I think Diana had two great sons..I know she'd be proud of them.

I think William is the spitting image of his father when he comes to royal engagements, he has taken to them like a fish to water.

I agree with you all. William seems to have really come into his own lately. He's getting more and more comfortable with doing engagements and even his speeches sound more polished. He seems much more confident to me.

I found this YouTube video from William's Headley Court visit. It includes his speech.

I was impressed especially with his trip to Australia. He did such a good job and received very good press. I think he'll be a big asset to the RF.

You can really tell he's comfortable and engaged. Both he and Harry really shine when advocating for wounded soldiers.

The aura coming from him is so kingly and regal!! He looks ready for his role. And I love the accent.

I think it is their military schooling. Harry seemed really comfortable at battle in the Middle East too.
