To be honest I'm surprised he's already being groomed for taking this over. I guess I didn't expect it for a few more years or at least not until he finished his RAF stint. But I guess it can't hurt to start training him.

I could never hold a tarantula like this. I would have a heart attack. He's very brave.

I agree, but Prince William doesn't look entirely comfortable himself!

I give him bravery points - I would've fainted, or screamed my head off!

The royal took the creature into the palms of his hands during a visit to open the Natural History Museum's completed multi-million-pound Darwin Centre

'Sweaty' Prince William holds tarantula - Telegraph

It was meant to be the day Prince William declared his love of the natural world and told of the debt he owes his mother and father

Prince William faced a fear by meeting and holding Sarah the tarantula shortly before he opened the new multi-million pound Darwin Centre at the Natural History Museum in London.

They are quite friendly and can be super pets.

Skydragon, thank you very much both for the articles and the video.
The last one was really great!
Frankly speaking, I'll be able to take this spider in my arms.

Here are more photos of Prince William's visit to The Darwin exhibition at The Natural History Museum, London.

I'm glad he's interested in nature and the environment. It looks like quite an impressive place! I wish we could see more pics of the inside.
He looks like a real scientist here

I took this off another forum since I'm too lazy to type it out myself

On Monday Wills hosted a gathering of representatives from multiple charities he and Harry have ties to. Harry was working at RAF Shawbury, so this time Wills was by himself. The last time they had a meeting for their charities forum, Harry was there by himself, and Wills was at work at RAF Shawbury. Here's the link from the Prince of Wales' website:

The Prince of Wales - The Princes' Charities Forum

And a video of chairman William presiding over the meeting.

Is it just my Canadian ears, or do other people find William hard to understand? He seems to speak very quickly. I could understand the other interviewees much more easily. I also find Harry easier to understand.

I gave up trying to understand William years ago. He needs to be subtitled I think.

I think he just needs to train himself to slow down a little and enunciate a bit more. Perhaps he's just nervous in front of the camera.

So it looks like he had both the Darwin Centre opening and then this event at Clarence House on Monday. Busy day for him!

Yes! He mumbles and is too fast at talking. Should have a bit more training!

That's a sweet picture of him kissing the girl.

He's so handsome in these pictures. I noticed he tends to clasp his hands in front just like his mother used to do.

PRINCES William and Harry met servicemen wounded in Afghanistan on a secret and emotional visit to a hospital after a personal plea from their father.

The two young Princes went to the Royal Centre for Defence Medicine at Selly Oak in Birmingham last *Friday after Prince Charles told them it was “full to the gunnels” with injured military personnel who needed cheering up.
