Cute photos. Thanks, iceflower. Camilla's wearing my favourite coat and has a lovely smile. Charles look just a tad uncertain about pushing a wheelchair in public. Not something he's used to.

Europe Day, Cenotaph, Whitehall, London, May 8, 2010.

The umbrella pics (number 5 and gallery) are funny

It's wonderful that they attended the event together, it is a shame the Queen didn't attend with them.
I'm glad it's commerated by not only politicians but royalty, some times I feel events get forgotten about.
The umbrella pictures are quite entertaining.

Here is a link to a video clip of the service. I always find it so moving to hear "The Last Post". (There is also a clip at Sky News, but I couldn't get it to copy and paste successfully.)

It's good to see that Camilla's out of her cast; I have to say I have a whole new appreciation for her since the Sarah Ferguson scandal.

Crazed man bundled to ground after he lunges at Prince Charles - mirror.co.uk

A crazed man is wrestled to the ground yesterday after trying to lunge at Prince Charles.

The unnamed man, thought to be in his 30s, was said to have screamed like an animal before running at Charles and Camilla as they met guests in a food tent at a country fair.

That has got to be scary. If there is any doubt out there that the BRF have enemies and have need of the Royal Protection Squad, Anne, The Princess Royal, can certainly set them straight.

Sounds similar to the incident in Sydney a number of years ago more than Anne's attempted kidnapping.

The royals know they are targets and they themselves are also trained how to deal with this sort of thing (or so we were told when the guy brandished the gun at Charles on the podium some years ago).

Hum apparently we must be very careful with the facts :

From the article's comments section :

"This story misrepresents what actually happened. The man in question is autistic and had become separated from his mother in the food tent. Special Branch officers instructed the police to remove the man as they thought he was behaving suspiciously. The man panicked and tried to attract his mothers attention and get back to her at which time the police, not identifying his real intentions, forcibly restrained him and removed him from the area. After the incident the police recognized that the man had mental health issues and he was released into the care of another relative. At no time was any threat intended or made towards Charles. Those are the facts and not the sensationalized distortion that sells newspapers."

See the mirror has twisted the story to make it sell more, and left out some important details.
It is a shame that this boy was seperated from his parents, then treated like that by the police.
