I hope this is not true, because if Harry is hurting now, this marriage may not help his problems.

Fears for Harry drove Charles to wed

By Francis Elliott and Nicholas Pyke

13 February 2005

Fears over Prince Harry's increasingly wild behaviour helped to push his father into marrying Camilla Parker Bowles, a friend of the couple has told The Independent on Sunday.

The Prince of Wales believes he has little chance of bringing his son into line while his own irregular relationship is a subject of controversy. Insiders confirm the Queen gave Charles "a push" because she feared the monarchy was being damaged. But, friends say, he also decided to set his affairs in order for the sake of his younger son.

"I think they have come to realise that they had no hope of getting Harry under control until they got themselves under control," said the friend.

With public opinion showing signs of turning against her, Mrs Parker Bowles is resisting pressure from courtiers to give a lengthy TV interview to win support. Polls suggest most people are opposed to her being styled Her Royal Highness and that 65 per cent still blame her for the break-up of Charles's marriage to Diana.

"She always says that she has survived because she has kept her mouth shut," said one old friend last night.

The couple face demands to apologise publicly for their past infidelity at the Church of England's General Synod, which opens tomorrow.

Evangelical churchmen are to demand an emergency debate on the royal wedding at the church's governing council, claiming that the union of two self-confessed adulterers could damage both the church and the institution of marriage.

The Rev Rod Thomas, a leading member of the conservative Reform grouping, said he is prepared to call for a debate when the Synod opens in London. He said: "If they go ahead as things stand, it will increase the pressure on the future King, increase the pressure for disestablishment, undermine his role, and the whole effect on our institutions will be to bring them under fresh pressure.

"How could he possibly say the coronation oath promising to uphold the teachings of the Church of England? How could he say that with credibility in view of his own circumstances?" asked Mr Thomas, vicar of St Matthew's Plymouth.

"It is up to them to say we believe in lifelong marriage and that we have acted incorrectly and that before God we're sorry for these things. If our interest is in promoting the concept of marriage as a lifelong commitment involving faithfulness, the question has to be what can we do to make sure that this wedding doesn't damage that concept?"

Dr Philip Giddings, a senior Synod member and a prominent traditionalist, said: "I would not be surprised if the announcement of the wedding is raised at Synod."

Both Prince Charles and Mrs Parker Bowles are "immensely relieved" the news is out, say friends. They reveal that the Prince edged towards making his proposal over the past 18 months when he has spent an increasing amount of time with Camilla on the Balmoral estate. He also came to accept that a marriage to his partner could help to settle hisyounger son. Harry's swastika-sporting appearance at a party earlier this year brought to public attention several years of deteriorating behaviour.

Tony Blair yesterday ruled out a bank holiday on 8 April.

Here is some more news about how harry really feels about all this mess

Harry squirms under 'wicked stepmother' jibes

Asian News International
London, February 14, 2005

Prince Harry, who has lately courted much controversy for his flamboyant ways, is reportedly finding it difficult to accept his father's marriage to Camilla Parker Bowles, especially with his friends taunting him about his 'wicked stepmother'.

According to the Daily Mail, official statements said that both William and Harry were 'delighted' for their father.

However an insider said, "Everyone knows this is incredibly difficult for Harry. He has never warmed to Camilla. He doesn't like to be in the same house as her."

Harry is reportedly staying at Highgrove with Charles and Camilla. However he has asked William to join him to offer moral support saying, "It's getting a bit crowded in here, isn't it?"

LONDON: It's not happy families, a la the famous British tea-time game, in the world's most closely-watched dysfunctional royal family.

Officially, Charles and Diana's two sons are described as 'delighted' their father is hitching up with his long-time love, Camilla Parker-Bowles. Unofficially, says the gossipy British press, Charles's younger boy, Harry, is incredibly distraught and at his wits end because of teasing phone calls from friends about the impending arrival on the world stage of his "wicked stepmother."

In an uncanny echo of his late mother's public denunciation of Charles and Camilla's adulterous affair, Harry is rumoured to have rung elder brother William at university and begged him to come home to offer moral support, saying: "It's getting a bit crowded in here, isn't it?"

Nearly 20 years ago, Diana had famously told a worldwide television audience that her bete-noire Camilla's constant presence in her husband's life meant "there were three of us in this marriage. So it got a bit crowded."

In a tone of faux sympathy towards the haunted young prince, The News of the World reported that Charles's plans to marry again had been a new source of heartache to the flame-haired, royal 20-year-old. The tabloid quoted one of Harry's friends to say, "He was deeply affected by the death of his mother and whenever he looked at Camilla he saw the woman who broke her heart."

In the run-up to the marriage announcement, claimed the friend, Charles's attempt to explain the situation to his younger son "went badly wrong. Harry was very upset, lots of door slamming. Charles just hopes he will come round in time."

Meanwhile, The Mail on Sunday quoted a royal "insider" to cast doubts on the official good news story that Harry and William were willing and happy to be part of an extended family with Camilla and the two children from her previous failed marriage. Instead, Harry is said to have "never warmed to Camilla. He doesn't like to be in the same house as her."

But despite all the family high drama, Britain's newest prospective royal has already been assigned her own royal security codenamed Purple 4-6b along with an armed protection team from Scotland Yard.

Her prospective husband, meanwhile, is said to be determined to gain public support for Camilla to become queen when he accedes to the throne. Charles hopes that public opinion will shift in favour of Camilla over the coming years, allowing her to take the title of Queen once he is King.

O, that's very sad. Poor Harry! His friends, if they really are his friends, shouldn't say those horrible things to him. They should offer him support. It would be hard for anyone adjusting to the idea of a step-parent, but it would make it harder if you were in the spotlight all of the time.

I read this random article recently that said Harry and Chelsy were still going out and she had visited him in early February. How weird.

LOVESICK Prince Harry flew his stunning girlfriend Chelsy Davy to
England for a secret 14-DAY break, it was revealed last night.
Curvy Chelsy, 19, spent the fortnight with the Prince after jetting
in from South Africa.

Most of her time in England, between February 2 and 17, with
Harry, 20, was at his father's estate at Highgrove, Gloucs.
A source said: "Harry was over the moon when Prince Charles gave
the go-ahead for the visit.

"The pair are besotted with each other and it has been hard for
them having to spend so much time apart. This trip shows just how
serious the relationship really is. Her visit allowed the pair to
have Valentine's Day together."

The source added: "They were both keen to keep Chelsy's visit top
secret. The last thing they wanted was to make it public knowledge.
"Chelsy even told close friends she would be leaving South Africa
to visit a sick relative in Zimbabwe.

"It is unclear whether or not Chelsy stayed the night at Highgrove
but she certainly spent a lot of time there."
Harry is now planning a return visit before he is due to start
Sandhurst Military Academy in May.

A Buckingham Palace insider said: "Harry will be allowed to see
Chelsy before he starts at Sandhurst.

"The pair know it will be difficult for them to spend time
together after that.

"But Charles will allow him to have one more trip to Africa before
then.

"During the visit he will continue his work with children
suffering from Aids.

"But after that he will have time to go and see Chelsy."

Playwright Sharon Garfinkel with the snub letter.

PRINCE Harry has snubbed an invitation to a play about Holocaust
survivors but has apologised for wearing a Nazi uniform to a fancy
dress party.

The Prince, 20, was invited to a performance of Planet Palestine by
playwright Sharon Garfinkel at Highgate's Upstairs at the Gatehouse
Theatre.

Ms Garfinkel, of Messina Avenue, West Hampstead, said: "I invited the
Prince because he, more than anybody else, should be aware of the
Holocaust."

The play is set in Palestine in 1947 and Ms Garfinkel believes it
would have taught Harry a valuable lesson in Jewish history.

A letter from the Prince's personal secretary, Helen Asprey, said: "I
know Prince Harry much appreciated your kind invitation.

"I am afraid, however, The Prince of Wales is of the firm view that
Prince Harry should not take on any such requests of this kind whilst
continuing with his general education and preparing for the Royal
Military Academy Sandhurst.

"I must therefore, sadly, decline your invitation on Prince Harry's
behalf.

"I am sorry to send you this

disappointing reply but do hope you understand.

"I know Prince Harry was most touched that you should think of him in
this way.

"I would like to take this opportunity to reiterate that his choice
of fancy dress costume was not intended to cause any harm or offence,
but was a serious lapse of judgement for which he is very sorry for
the offence and distress caused."

The performance on March 20 is sponsored by Jewish education charity
Spiro Ark and is the first in a series of plays by new writers.

Nitza Spiro, director of Spiro Ark, said: "I would like to have
direct contact with Prince Harry's father to tell him what education
is all about.

Wasn't that on tv a while ago?

It was on ABC some months ago with Diana Sawyer narrating some of it, and perhaps it was on the CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Channel) recently, which is where Humera got the screencaps from.
