As fun as I'm sure the pub crawl would be for Harry (they are fun) I feel like its in his best interest to not do anything that could tarnish his already damaged image. Plus I think he's supposed to be sober for his heli training so I doubt he'll go for that reason alone.

Uh?
They have been pictured coming out of nightclubs from time to time (same as Kate and William). Apart from that, what makes you think their drinking was out of the ordinary when they were together? In most of the pictures of them together they are not even holding alcohol.

And that story sound utterly ridiculous. Natalie has already denied any friendship with Harry and it has been made clear he is banned from heavy drinking for one year, so why would he even consider a pub crawl?

I think perhaps you are confusing the "venues" with the activities.

Unless there are sports fixtures or something family/relationship oriented like Polo matches, where else do young people get together with their friends? Clubs and bars are where young people are.

As with their York cousins, "exclusive" clubs provide a degree of privacy and respite from the ever present media. The downside is that the media let their imaginations run amok e.g. "Questions in the House of Commons" over Harry's outrageous bar bill on exotic cocktails and then it turned out he wasn't even there.

Truth is the first casualty of War, and you had better believe that stalking the young royals has more in common with guerilla warfare than happy snaps!!

Prince Harry's flying instructors have likened him to Maverick, the pilot played by Tom Cruise in Top Gun.

Random question that I'm not sure is off topic or not: Prince William is called Wills for short but he's still called prince "William" not Prince "Wills," so why is Prince Harry called Prince "Harry" and not Prince "Henry"?

The name Harry is a diminutive of the names Harold and Henry (just as Jim is to James). Prince Harry has always been referred to as Harry and maybe it's because Henry sounds too royal..... I have to add that I see no sense in christening someone Henry then calling them by a nick-name all their life!

I'd imagine that they named him "Henry" rather than "Harry" just in case he ended up being king some day.

I don't think that anyone would seriously deny that Harry drank to excess on more than one occasion. Chelsey liked to "party", with or without Harry. To my way of thinking, that's two people who like their booze and aren't inclined to watch the other's intake. IMO that's a bad combination.

Agreed that people can be in alcohol-fuel environments and not drink too much.

When push comes to shove he will either pass or fail. As with any Pass/Fail system there will always be one who is borderline. I think instinct and flair could be the deciding issue, if and when he actually gets that far.

In today's climate of accountability I can't see the Military Machine passing Harry as a pilot if he is not up to it. It would be putting his life and those of any luckless passengers at immenent risk of death on the homefront and, should he be deployed, almost a certaintainty.

Neither the BRF nor the Public would forgive them such a crime.

I read that he even blundered BADLY when signing the condolence book for the bush fire victims. Apparently when attaching the yellow ribbon of remembrance to his lapel he laughed and said, " I'm only wearing this until the cricket starts" a reference to England's impending matches against Australia soon. If that's true then he really is an insensitive idiot (not to mention the fact that the Royals should never, and have never in the past, openly expressed support for one country that the Queen is Head of State of over another. But that is another issue again).

Thank you for these stories Emeralds and Opals. Does anyone know anything about the young lady Prince Harry took back to Clarence House at 3:15 in the morning? The articles said her name is Astrid Harbord

At 27 she's older than Prince Harry, but she does look similar to Chelsy.

Actually the royals regularly show support for one realm over another.

In 1981 Prince Charles regularly asked for updates in the Ashes series after Ian Botham's heriocs turned the tied against Australia.

The Queen was reported to be sending text messages to her grandsons in 2005 over how well England was going.

Harry and Zara both were present at the final of the Rugby World Cup in Sydney supporting England against Australia.

Anne supports Scotland in Rugby against all comers - England, Wales, Ireland (a team made up of players from the Republic as well as Northern Ireland), New Zealand, Australia etc.

William has been criticised for supporting England in matches against Wales (even though he is the Patron of Welsh rugby now - not necessarily at the time he was criticised but it is still evidence of the Royals supporting one part or a realm or one realm against another).

The list is endless of members of the RF, including The Queen herself, supporting England/Britain over the other realms.

Not much point in those other countries keeping the Monarchy then is there? And it still dosn't take away from the fact that it was not a time for jokes.
