This video is in very poor taste. Every person with a loved one fighting in Afghanistan will imagine their brother/son/Husband in Harry's place.
They're taking it too far by portraying a "known" person. It isn't necessary to do that. It's downright tacky!

The video is in very poor taste but unfortunately it is a reality for EVERY soldier. Morseso for Harry.

The video while in poor taste, is actually one reason why they decided to keep Harry's presence in Afghanistan a secret and moved him when it was discovered that he was there.

They moved two months after his presence there was made known - not immediately.

Princes William and Harry 'shocked' after Charles Stisted killed in helicopter crash | Mail Online

Princes William and Harry were in deep shock last night after a friend of the Royal Family was killed in a helicopter crash.
Charlie Stisted, 47 was one of three men returning home from a hunting trip when their aircraft came down in County Down, Northern Ireland yesterday afternoon.

Mr Stisted was head of the Guards Polo Club - whose president is the Duke of Edinburgh - and was a close friend of the Prince of Wales and Princes William and Harry.

Harry seems clever and well-spoken in interviews, sometimes more so than William. I think this "if you don't test well you're stupid" isn't a good way to judge intelligence. Having said that... I don't think Harry is the sharpest tool. Looking at his choice in women and constant desire to go shoot at people is immature to me. Although, I know how a lot of young men desire the thrill of combat, Its just not a smart thing to do when you're royal. I hope he grows out of it when he enters his 30's haha.

about that video I'm also surprised it hasn't been done yet. In a way its a great storyline, but it is too close to reality. I don't want to see a fictional Harry in that situation. I think it seems more unsettling to the public if its a public figure being shown in danger rather than a stranger.

Perhaps you didn't mean it but it sounds as though you're implying that all who enlist in the military are immature and just have a desire to shoot people. I don't think that's a fair assessment to make, including Harry. :ermm:

Hmm, "not the sharpest tool"? What on earth was wrong with Chelsy? Was she a stripper? A porn star? A drunken nymphet? Oh yes, I forgot, a Dumb Blond . . . . . . who just happens to be in the final stages of her Law degree and, unlike some people, does not have to take her shoes off to count past ten!

As to Harry's career choice? He has shown himself as a fine Soldier in whatever role he has been allowed to assume. The fact that he qualified for Apache Helicopter Pilot training seems to indicate that he is more than a little "sharp". He seems to thrive in the military and he is obviously able to lead and inspire, no small ability, and even though he was deployed for a relatively short time in Afghanistan he has earned some respect!

To state that a man, joins the military for no other reason than it fulfills his "constant desire to go shoot at people" and "is immature", and that "young men desire the thrill of combat", implies that War is just a game at best and a substitute for blood sport at worst, and is therefore, an insult to every serving and retired member of Her Majesty's Forces throughout Britain and the Commonwealth, regardless of status, rank or gender! :bang:

Oh shanaz and Marg, that post and comments like "[Harry's] constant desire to go shoot at people" is intended to goad and bait.
Members who've been around here for a while have seen it all before plenty of times; resist the temptation and don't fall for it. :)

I wonder if Harry will have to endure some razzing from his older brother about the pink underwear?

He's so handsome in those pix. It takes a confident man to wear pink underwear. ;)

Well looking at the history of horrors of what "Her Majesty's Forces" have accomplished: slavery, colonization ect... I'm not very impressed by the institution. However, I believe today the British military are honourable and are motivated/believe in helping people.

To me going into combat doesn't prove intelligence (unless you're the strategist). It involves bravery, yes. Intelligence? no. Being good at a career or being a nice person doesn't equal intelligence (although in my opinion those are far superior qualities over intelligence).

As for Chelsey... was she not a drunken/smoking nymphet?
I liked her--but I never took her seriously. She looked like Paris Hilton with a better body and degree. I'm glad she isn't marrying Harry, for her sake. I don't think she'd be happy with people (like me) tearing her down through the entire potential marriage. Kate seems more... resolved to that fate.

Can somebody explain what is the significance of the red flower-like button everyone wears?

Yes, it´s the red poppy and remembers the poppy fields in Flandres where upon many british soldiers lost their lives during World War I (1914- 1918)

Thanks, but I also saw people wearing it during not veteran/war related events..

Charlotte....people tend to wear the poppies at other events as a sign of respect for those fallen. Not just at veteran/war related events.

Is it just me or do I really see Harry feeling quite emotional at this point in Pic 2?

Its really fitting that he was there to do this.
