The cricket match was a charity match as well. This way two charities were promoted whereas if both are always at the same event then only one benefits. I do think that they need to do more separately otherwise they won't really create their own identities.

Yes, I agree they can't be joined at the hip all the time.
Although I too enjoy seeing them at events together Shanaz.

This pic is amusing. It looks as though he went shopping. http://www1.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/A...KNk1Tl-RLl.jpg[/quote]

Yes they probably were. Harry looks slightly embarassed in that photo.

Where does this put Prince Henry? Ramp up the "common" denominator.

I think this had a good background to it, but it won't turn out well, and he's picked the wrong person to do it with.

Further evidence of the downgrading of the royals to celebrities being lead mainly by William and Harry.
The Queen needs to sit these two men down and explain the difference between royalty and celebrity and see that they get it because at the moment they don't.

Or at least remind them of the fallout from The Royal Knockabout. That didn't go down too well either. Maybe he is just sponsoring the event and not actually participating.
It would be nice if it was a one off (one time or annual event) that raised money for children who like to participate in music classes/lessons . And because of economics they don't have the funds to participate (purchase instruments and/or lessons). Oh well.

I am embarrassed to read this. I can't believe Harry would degrade the royal family this way.

Well since its from the Daily Mail I suppose we should take it with a grain of salt....but it doesn't look promising.
I do feel like certain Royals and well known public figures could take some advice from some of us or rather anyone other than who they are listening to. I mean......what is he thinking?

I'm not sure about this . . we'll have to see exactly how he is involved with it.

Reading the Hello article through it seems Harry will only appear in the final (presumably to present the award) & this will be hosted at Buckingham Palace. So perhaps it won't be as bad as it initially appears.

Maybe not but to me it still is kind of mixing the monarchy with the entertainment commercialism circuit and that doesn't sit right with me.
Perhaps we are missing something here. I know Harry is very fond of doing things that involve children and getting them a better start in life and such... perhaps somehow this all ties in?
I just went back and reread the article... the final show will be performed at Buck House with Harry in attendance. Quoting Goldie: "It's all about unearthing musical talent that’s under the radar in Britain – finding young people who've faced huge challenges and have never had the opportunities that they deserve," he said.
I still think a venue such as the Royal Albert Hall might be more appropriate but that's just me.

I do agree with you & it is worrying what the likely fall out might be ( think Royal "It's a Knock Out") To be able to use Buckingham Palace the Queen must have given her approval , so hopefully there is someone who has been delegated with a strong watching brief. I also agree that mixing Royals with Celebs is always a difficult path to tread, but sadly is one of the few ways that the Royals have to ensure their causes rae well supported and reported in the Media.

If I was Prince Henry I would try it. Seems he likes the limelight.

I agree with you Osipi. Their love of young people and music brought them together. I think Prince Henry is taking the humanitarian work of royals, like his father's trust into the limelight. What would a son of Diana, Princess of Wales do- I think this. If it is a good event you will see Prince Henry and more royals do this. I hope it turns out for all involved. I even think Prince Charles might like this novel approach to helping young people. Prince Charles was modern with his fund for young people that was set up in the 70's (I believe). Also Prince Henry s third to the throne, so he can try things out and not worry about Kingship.
