1. Sarah says she approves of her. 2. How smart could she be if she loves Andrew? She doesn't need the money, if any, and he is not supposed to be so bright? And would she want to deal with Sarah and step kids?

Prince Andrew 'Inseparable' From New Love Amanda

20 OCTOBER 2003
Prince Andrew has found himself at the centre of attention once again, as talk of the new love in his life fills the press.

The 43-year-old prince has apparently been dating businesswoman Amanda Staveley for over a year. And according to royal sources, the 30-year-old blonde has already won the approval of both Prince Andrew's parents and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson.

Amanda has accompanied Andrew to functions at Balmoral and Windsor Castle, not to mention meeting the Queen at Buckingham Palace.

The Duke of York first met the former model three years ago when he opened a business centre she developed in Cambridge. He was impressed with the young hotelier's business success and the two soon became friends.

In the last 12 months their relationship has become more serious, however, and the couple are now said to be "inseparable". Amanda often spends evenings at his Buckingham Palace apartment and they also meet up for alternate weekends at his Sunningdale mansion and her country home in the Yorkshire Dales.

Amanda, who made her first million at the age of 24, is the daughter of a wealthy Yorkshire landowner. Friends say she is an independent-minded woman and would not take a royal title were to marry the Prince.

Prince Andrew is perhaps best known as the husband of Sarah Ferguson.

The couple was married March 19, 1986, with Prince Andrew assuming the title of the Duke of York and Sarah becoming the Duchess of York. They had two girls, Beatrice Elizabeth Mary of York and Egenie Victoria Helena before agreeing to a divorce in 1996. They have continued to have joint custody of their children and live at Sunninghill Park, next to the Great Park, Windsor.

But while his love life has gained him his most notoriety, Prince Andrew also performs a number of duties on behalf of the royal family, and that will be his role Sunday when he comes to Uniontown for the dedication of the George C. Marshall Memorial Plaza.

As part of his visit, the prince will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Marshall Scholarships. The scholarships were created by the British Parliament in honor of Marshall, who is credited with saving Europe from communism after World War II via the Marshall Plan.

Before he comes to Uniontown, the prince is expected to visit the University of Pittsburgh to honor it as a Marshall Center for Excellence because the school has led the nation in the number of scholarship winners during the last five years.

While in Pittsburgh, the prince will also attend the British-American Business Council's annual Transatlantic Business Conference Dinner, in keeping with his most recent appointment. Since leaving the Royal Navy in 2001, the Duke of York has taken up a new role as special representative for international trade and investment.

The duke is working in support of British Trade International (BTI), the government body that supports UK companies trading internationally and encourages foreign investment. In this role, Prince Andrew undertakes a wide range of official activities, including visits overseas in support of the UK's market, sector and inward investment priorities, leading trade missions and conducting business-focused tours in the UK regions.

Born Feb. 19, 1960, at Buckingham Palace, the prince was the second son and the third child of the queen and the duke of Edinburgh. He was the first child to be born to a reigning monarch in 103 years.

The Duke joined the Royal Navy in 1979 on a short service commission, as a seaman officer specializing as a pilot. He entered Britannia Royal Naval College, Dartmouth, where he took the full range of initial professional training and concurrently undertook the Royal Marine Green Beret course with the young officer's batch of 1979 at the Commando Training Centre, Lympstone. He was awarded his green beret the week before he graduated from college in front of the queen at the Lord High Admiral's Divisions.

After graduating, the prince went on to elementary flying training with the Royal Air Force at RAF Leeming, Yorkshire, where he learned to fly the Bulldog. Subsequently, he went through basic flying training with the Royal Navy at Royal Naval Air Station (RNAS) Culdrose, Cornwall, where he learned to fly the Gazelle helicopter. He received his Wings from the duke of Edinburgh in April 1981 and won the award for the best pilot. After converting onto the Sea King helicopter and conducting operational flying training, he joined his first front-line unit, 820 Naval Air Squadron, before embarking on an anti-submarine warfare carrier.

Only six months later, Andrew was to see active service. Along with his squadron, he sailed as part of the task force that sailed to the South Atlantic to regain the Falkland Islands. Throughout the conflict he flew on various missions, including anti-submarine warfare and anti-surface warfare search. He also helped in casualty evacuation, transport and search and air rescue.

He served in a number of positions afterward before retiring from the Royal Navy in 2001.

Additionally, the prince is involved in a variety of charitable causes, including Fight for Sight, Defeating Deafness and the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children's campaign,

He also maintains personal interests in the arts and performing arts, including photography, and he published a book of his photographs in 1985.

Thank you Martine for the pictures. Prince Andrew's new love is quite pretty in a natural way. I think it was the HELLO! story that stated that she wouldn't want a title even if she did marry Prince Andrew. I don't know what the logistics are, if she would get a title as the second wife of the Prince, but I found that quite endearing about her; that she wants to be her own person, independent of the person whom she marries.

yeh i think she's quite pretty too.

I think she would become THE duchess of york when she marries Andrew , Sarah would be just duchess of york.

I think it's very cool that she doesn't want a title , she seems very down to earth and she knows what she is doing. Sarah was quite the opposite ( although that is not mean badly)

I really hope they will get married soon. (i love royal marriages ;) )

i dont think so!

if Prince Andrew would get married again and he cant take that title again because Amanda would become title when she marry to Prince if Sarah would upset to steal her beloved title that not fair! you know that following under the British Law! or Her Majesty's knew about it!

Sarah is currently "Sarah, Duchess of York", just like Diana became "Diana, Princess of Wales", as opposed to "Princess Diana of Wales" or "Diana the Princess of Wales"

This won't change until Sarah gets married, even if Andrew does. If Sarah gets married, she takes her new husband's title(if any) and loses her old one. If Andrew gets married, his wife will be called "The Duchess of York" or "Amanda the Duchess of York". Sarah cannot be called "Her Grace", while a new Duchess CAN be called "Her Grace". Of course the whole business of calling a Duke "Your Grace" has fallen out of favor.

I think a similar situation happens if a Duke dies and passes his title to his son. The old Duke's wife is know as "Mary, Duchess of Normandy" and the new Duke's wife is known as "Jane the Duchess of Normandy". I gather the "the" indicates the currently active occupant of the position of Duchess. :)

If HRH Prince Andrew's dukedom were other than a Royal Dukedom your statement would be true. A non-royal duke/duchess is refered to as "Your Grace". However, because the Duke of York and his new Duchess[if it should happen] would have the style, dignity and title of HRH,Prince/Princess of GB and NI, they would always have the honorific of "Your Royal Highness" which is superior to "your grace".
Calling a non-royal duke/duchess "Your Grace" has NOT fallen out of favor. It is proper etiquette.

The widow of a Duke has ALWAYS been referred to as the Dowager Duchess of X. In recent times[ for example]HRH Alice, the Dowager Duchess of Gloucester refused to be known by that title. Although, HM The Queen did graciously allow her Aunt to go by the improper new title of HRH Alice, Duchess of Gloucester, the use of Dowager Duchess was, and is, the proper form. :flower:

Polfoto 05-09-1972 The Duchess of York .................... claimed she had to "train the Duke of York to give love because he did not learn it from his parents.
This statement shows that the Duchess of York is narcissistically enthused about her own importance and power. As the old saying goes, men tend to marry women just like dear old Mom.

As what I have read on my Royal magazines, Prince Andrew the Duke of York has a new girlfriend. A businesswoman in London in which he could present in public and introduced to the royal families. The main point here is that, if it has a approval of the Queen and if ever the Prince decided to get married again The Dutchess Of York Sarah Ferguson will not be allowed on the palace anymore. And her two Princessess Beatrice and Eugenie have to stay at the royal place and go on with their normal life with their father. Thats actually the greatest fear of the Dutchess right now, because she can't be with her lovely daughters all the time and as much as she wants. But she even said that her two daughters can visit her anytime in her saimple place and be as normal girl without the background of being a princess. Although Sarah knew that she was never been a perfect royal and even labelled as disgrace to the royal family. deep in her heart she knew that her two girls are ready to face the life and consequences of being a royal and soon heir to the throne and will never repeat her mistakes. B)

Don't be ridiculous!  The princess's have always lived with their mother. They are both at boarding school but Sarah's home is where they live when not at school.

The Queen and Sarah remain on good terms and I doubt very much that HM would take the girls from their mother. The only time they would live full time with P Andrew would be if Sarah decided to live full time in the USA.

i think the news of Andrew having a new girlfriend is just gossip

but it's true that the girls don't live with their mother anymore when they're not in boarding school. they live at royal lodge with Andrew , they do visit Sarah a lot though when they're not at school . but they officially live with Andrew now.
Sarah said in an interview that it was the girls' decision to live with their father when they're not at school.

how Andrew met that woman?

but that good idea for Andrew getting married again if his mom would accepted to get married with another woman and also his ex-wife would be no longer royals like Princess Diana you know that.

i think Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenic would lived with her dad when her mom visit USA and England travels lots than see the daughters you know that.

if two girls would accepts her dad gets married with step-mother like that or not its hard for two girls.

Andrew is already in China, as we speak, I believe. I've seen some photos here and there of him in Beijing so far, I believe.

Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie attend boarding school for most of the year - from September to mid-July.

Prince Andrew, Duke Of York: News and Pictures 2: May04 - May06

Here is another start to a Prince Andrew news thread. The other was getting too long!

I have no time whatsoever for Prince Andrew. Not only does he appear to be the stupidest member of the family but also rude and arrogant with it. People always comment on Fergie's antics over the years but in the early days they looked like a match made in Heaven. At least she seems to have grown up slightly over the years whilst he appears to be as immature as ever. I doubt that he will ever marry again as no sensible woman would have him.
