She has worn this necklace and the earrings about 15 years before. I too wonder if anyone can tell us more about it? :flowers:

I thought that she looked amazing, though I for one am a bit bored with that hairstyle in the meanwhile and prefer her "Edwardian-like"-hairstyles much more.

It is great to see Princess Michael being invited to attend the event promoting achievements of women. Her ensemble befitted the occasion reasonably well.

I second that. Well ... this picture means that the Princess Michael has got an Indian-style jewellery.

Quite so. Though if it is actually her own jewellery, I wonder why she has not used it in the intervening years?

I do recall her wearing ait at different times from around 2001 but that is the only occasion I could remember her wearing it off the top of my head.

An interesting read indeed. Thanks for the link, Westminster. :flowers: I wasn't too sure that her native language is German. I liked it what she told about the upbringing of children.

Jean de Yturbe, owner of the Chateau d'Anet, Princess Michael of Kent and
Duchess of Orleans Gersende de Sabran, watch Diane de Poitier's remains
returning to the Chateau d'Anet before being reinterred, on May 29, 2010
in Anet, central France.

King Henri II's mistress Diane de Poitiers died in 1566 at the age of 66 and
was buried in the funeral chapel of her chateau. Her grave was opened
during the French Revolution and her remains were discovered in a mass
grave in 2008.

Impressing event - it looks a bit more like a play with all those costumes.

Yes, indeed, I agree with you; and Princess Michael reminds me a sort of Christmas tree in mourning...

What a comparison..;)

Prince Michael has been in France as well, but attended another
official event that same day:

Prince Michael of Kent accompanied by French mayor of Dunkirk Michel
Delebarre speaks to a French veteran during a commemorative ceremony
on May 29, 2010 in Malo-les-Bains located on the French northern city
of Dunkirk, to mark the anniversary of the evacuation of Allied soldiers from
northern France in 1940, a pivotal World War II moment.

Indeed, MAfan.

What an fascinating scenery. I didn't know that Diane de Poitiers' remains were taken away during the Revolution.

Thanks for the pictures, Iceflower! :flowers:

Her outfit does look very nice, but why was she attending this event?
What was done to that woman's grave was shocking, I am glad she was found.

Finally I see some proof that a royal attended to Dunkirk remembrance. I don't understand why there were not more royals.

I wonder whether Prince Michael spoke French to the veteran? I wouldn't be at all surprised if the Prince speaks French.

I wonder what an english Princess was doing at the wonderful Anet castle and why the Duke of Orléans was not there.
The Duchess of Orléans athough she was wonderful when she was young and specially on her wedding day ,looks without make-up as a sad woman.

gala dinner in Moscow, Russia, June 4, 2010. On the pics
