Sophie makes an impact at local show

6 OCTOBER 2005 hellomagazine.com
The Countess of Wessex got a warm welcome of a bovine sort when she attended the Bath and West Show in Shepton Mallet, Somerset, this week. One prize-winning cow seemed particularly interested in the royal visitor, reaching forward for a closer inspection of Sophie as the pair were "introduced".
Prince Edward's wife toured the show's grounds checking out everything from livestock to quad bikes and a panto cow. She had obviously put especial thought into her choice of attire for the event - accessorising her blue-grey tweed suit with a faux cow-hide print handbag.

And while the Countess' two-year-old daughter Lady Louise didn't accompany her mum she was clearly on Sophie's mind, as at one point she admired a diminutive pair of traditional Home Counties-style wellies – just the size for her growing toddler.

1. Edward and Prince Philip for the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme (Gety Image?)

2. I think this is the photo Sara wanted. It is the only public photo of Prince Edward and Sophie, I know of, kissing.:D
3. Sophie at recent engagement in Yorkshire

A British female rank equivalent to a knight.

Here it means that the Countess of Wessex holds Grade II of the Order of St John.

Thank you for the answer.

HRH looks very elegant and beautiful in that robe. with all the years of hard work and devotion, she deserves this honour. congratulations!

Well it is not exactly a reward for hard work. Sophie is the patron/president? of St. John's Ambulances - the sister organisation. It is traditional for the the patron to be a knight or dame of the other organisation.

The Countess is an exceptionally beautiful woman, and has turned out to be a real credit to the Royal family. How exciting it must be (at least for a history buff such as myself) to be a part of such ancient and historical orders as the Hospitallers - never mind that bit about the Crusades.

Is Sophie pregnant?

I read that Sophie of Wessex is expecting her second child. Does anyone know the due date?
It's interesting that you can't really see the baby bump yet.

In August there have been rumours that The Countess was pregnant with her second child, timoka, because that time The Countess was on the holiday and there was a bump in her belly when she was in simsuit but actually until now, there has been no news of that, i think the newspaper at that time just thought cause of her belly seemed like a bump but actually the Countess is not pregnant at the moment.:(

LOL, It looks like Countess Sophie borrowed that coat from royal niece Zara! The fur trim is cute though...
