Is Sophie's trip to Bangladesh a "one off"? I can't imagine it would be a state visit because I don't know if Sophie's senior enough to partake on state visits of her own.
 
:previous: I don't believe it is considered a state visit unless it is the sovereign or the heir. Perhaps I am wrong. Even say William and Kate, its a 'royal tour' not a state visit. But I would say no, this would not be considered a 'royal tour', not something she is being sent on as a royal duty.

Sophie travels quite a lot during the year in support of her patronages. Among her many patronages, Sophie is the global ambassador for the International Association for the Prevention of Blindness. She is there in support of VisionUKGB and UKOrbis, both who work to help prevent blindness abroad. Vision 2020: Bangladesh is the main focus of this trip.
