The counseling piece is a joke. Kate has had more experience of how to cope with being a prince's constant companion than most of the other princesses combined. She could give lessons in discretion and deportment, loyalty and support. She is upbeat as well, not all mopey.

I think it's true that many of today's brides wear variations of white with ivory very popular. Chelsy Clinton and Ivanka Trump wore ivory Vera Wang gowns.

I agree. If the comments were made by an "edgy" comedian, some catty celebrity, or someone else in secular public life, they would still be in bad taste but would be more acceptable. But for someone who presumably talks about loving one's neighbour once in a while, the remarks were worse.

But she hasn't been a princess for the past 8 years.
She might be experienced with being in the press a few times a month, but not every day of her life.
Anyone can have discretion, loyalty and support.

^ well said. thats why i was rooting for William to try a few girls before marrying this one. He should have sowed his wild oats before settling down. And anyway, no matter how well and how much she has dealt with the press for 8 years, now its going to become hundred times more! She really needs all the help she can get, and there will be times in her life, when, like Diana (but probably not to the same extent), she will feel depressed and lonely. As the couple grows older and responsibility increases, she will have to look after herself more and more. I'm not saying that William will abandon her, but he will be busy and she will be expected (even by him, to an extent) to take care of herself most of the time. She should get as much help as possible now to help her deal with any kind of situation in the future.
As the girlfriend, all she needed demonstrate as loyalty and discretion, but now, so much more is expected, and the pressure will be on.
I'm not sure whether she's upbeat or mopey, though. time will tell. pressure has a way of making the best of us mopey:)

Let's hope there isn't a re-run of Andrew's absences connected to his job as an RAF pilot - the job William holds down at present.

William is in a land-based Rescue Sqadron. It is not as if he is a Navy Pilot on board a ship.

There is talk that his squadron is due to be deployed to the Falklands for two or three months next year and that he wants to do so that could be a problem if he is absent for that long early in the marriage.

In addition he has said if his squadron is deployed to Afghanistan then he would want to go with it - again a potential separation.

He is in the military of a country at war so deployment overseas is a possibility.

The British SAR does both military and civilian rescue. In that same way, here in Australia the sort of rescues he has been doing are done by our air ambulance and that helicopter always has a doctor on board to start medical treatment immediately and the helicopter is a fully equipped ambulance. Does anyone know if that is the case with the British SAR or does the victim only get basic first aid assistance.

So if he is deployed what will Kate do? She obviously can't tag along.

How much longer until William's military commitments are over?

She would probably do royal duties on her own as that will be her job from now on.

William's currently commtted to 2013 - 30 to 36 months with the SAR.

Her awesome ring looks beautiful! I read her dress will be designed by Phillipa Lepley...anyone can confirm this? Has she worn Lepley´s creations before?

I doubt we will find out who has designed her dress until the day of the wedding.

So she has probably already chosen somebody who´s working secretly...; a famous english name for sure! IMO, she should choose the same designer that Diana did; her designs are beautiful and very royal !

Certainly for the wedding dress and other outfits related to that events she needs to choose a designer/s that had no association with Diana to make her own mark or it will increasingly become harder for her to get out from Diana's shadow.
