An interesting entry in the CC for the 21st April - the list of attendess at the concert:

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, The Duke of Cambridge, Prince Henry of Wales, The Duke of York, accompanied by Princess Beatrice of York and Princess Eugenie of York, The Earl and Countess of Wessex, The Princess Royal and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, The Duke and Duchess of Kent, Princess Alexandra, the Hon Lady Ogilvy, Princess Michael of Kent

This is the first event that she has attended for quite a few years.

Interestingly that only one HRH was missing - Prince Michael of Kent. That is the second time in a couple of days that Princess Michael has attended an event alone in London according to the CC. He attended the dinner but missed the official opening of CHOGM and now the concert so I am wondering if there is something amiss with HRH for him to miss these events?

:previous: You are, of course, absolutely correct. If he had called her "Mama" it would have sounded pretentious and, if he had called her "Mother" he would have been called both pretentious and cold.

Calling her "Mummy" is definitely an 'in joke' between them. Had it been serious she would never have been so impolite or rude as to roll her eyes in full view of the cameras, she'd have waited till they were home and chewed his ass, spit him, out and probably fed the scraps to the dogs.

Everyone should know Charles calling his mother “Mummy” is just to get a bit of a chuckle from the audience. It’s been a expected since he did this during the Golden Jubilee Concert. He’s continued saying this during the Diamond Jubilee and now even her Birthday. It’s funny and touching at the same time.

Also, it’s what he call her everyday.

I watched the concert again last night. I loved every moment of it.

Re Duchess of Kent - I saw this and searched the pictures and I cant find any image of her. Looking at a group pic with Duke of Kent - Alexandra was on one side and a dark haired woman on the other. Perhaps expected to attend but didn't.

Or maybe attended but say somewhere where she wouldn't be seen.

I doubt that the Queen would approve her name appearing if she didn't do so. No one would have expected her to be there so her name appearing would mean that HM saw her there surely.

HM does approve the CC, in person, every day.

I think Meghan and Harry did great today and represented the BRF well!

Cute moment at the very end of this video where Meghan is just chit chatting away with folks and Harry has to go grab her to leave lol

All clergy make a very clear nod to the princes (not sure about Meghan).

The whole church was waiting for them to leave; so it makes sense that Harry hurries her up a bit.

:previous: At least the WA Clergy have got the routine down to a science. They have someone escort each royal along the reception line. Not only do they get an introduction but they keep the Order of Precedence so everything moves like a well oiled machine . . . albeit slowly. And let's face it, Meghan is a whole dynamic for them too so the usual pleasntries were a little longer than they should have been.

At one of the walkabouts Harry and Meghan were met by a man and a woman who just started introducing them holus bolus. What a muddle it was with Meghan ending up in front of Harry and then having to circle back to those she hadn't met. The lady introduced to Meghan as her escort should have just followed behind Harry's escort but probably didn't think about it.

Today Prince William and Prince Harry are officially opening the Greenhouse Centre, which will provide sport, coaching and social facilities for young people in the surrounding community.

Very interesting pairing. As far as I know William and Beatrice have never been involved with DoE Award.

What I find more cute is how deeply engrossed in conversation the group was! :flowers: Very cute moment.

Princess Anne attended the second reception in the afternoon, not the first one earlier today I've mentioned above.

The second reception was hosted by Princess Anne, the Earl and Countess of Wessex:

Wow, very impressive outing today. Traditional royalists ought to be happy I believe, as her hair is in a perfect bun, hat is beautifully fitted and the nylons are on in late May. We also see our newest Duchess sharing a few laughs with the PoW and Camilla. Lovely.
