The queen, her children and spouses (though I wonder if Tim will go if Anne isn't there), the Kent's minus the Duchess of Kent and the Gloucesters are the usual attendees.

William, Catherine or Harry never go though of course in time they will.

I hadn't realised.

Are William and Catherine in Wales tomorrow? Are they missing the Cenotaph service?

It puzzles me why the younger royals don't go. Why the same royals have to attend all the time? They could take turns on attending.

No, the Cambridge's will be at the Remembrance Sunday Cenotaph service.

British Royal Family Current Events 7: January 2014 to

No, not tomorrow. They took the helicopter to Wales today. Coming back after rugby.

With the Cambridges in Wales today, it would be hard to make it back in time and change into formal wear for a evening event

I don't understand why they don't attend either. It is always the same royals.

Another thing I don't understand is the seating arrangement in the balcony. Andrew is seated behind Charles and Camilla, who are seat on the Queen's left. Edward and Sophie are seated at the front on the Queen's right. Surely Andrew should be at the front for the sake of precedence? Perhaps it isn't don't like that, but I would imagine it probably is.

Well, I don´t think the music being played there is the young Royals cuppa tea...
In terms of your remark when it comes to seating arrangements: Why do you ask when you don´t positively know (who sits where)?!
But if you´re right, it might have something to do with Andrew coming without a spouse. There would be 3 couples sitting at the front. The DoY certainly cannot sit neither next to Edward nor Sophie, while one of them sits behind. They, as a married couple, sit of course side by side. Normally you´re right. Andrew, as the elder brother, outranks Edward and Sophie.

Should I not ask the question if I don't know the answer?

The precedence is respected as the Duke of York is seated next to the Duchess of Cornwall...

Andrew is normally behind Charles and Camilla seated next to Anne and Tim, whereas Edward and Sophie are front and centre beside the Queen. I just never understood why it was like this, but it has always been this way.

Can anyone tell me why the Duke of Edinburgh is wearing a US style stripe tie? Beyond that he chose to? I just checked and Canadian tie stripes run from right to left, up to down as someone else views them, just like the UK. US tie stripes run up to down, left to right as they are seen.
Anna posted a picture of him on her blog if you want to see the tie. HRH Countess of Wessex: Royal British Legion Festival or Remembrance

^^^ Not sure about the tie.

Andrew clearly has precedence over Edward but it might simply be a matter of logistics. Andrew is single and its easier to seat him?

Philip's tie appears to match the regimental tie of the Royal Anglian regiment

http://www.regimentalshop.com/shop/p...lian-Silk-Tie/

He is not the colonel of this regiment. The Duke of Gloucester is but the ties match. Maybe it was a gift.
