The weather doesn't look up to much.
It's a shame the other members of the royals aren't at the event.
A swap from red to green.
Nice to see Anne joining her parents.

Yes, it would have been lovely if more of the family had been present.

The Queen held an investiture at St. Giles' Cathedral in Edinburgh on Thursday.

She was wearing the robes and insignia of the Order of the Thistle, the only order of chivalry in Scotland, and similar to the Order of the Garter.

Two new Knights of the Thistle were announced way back in November, and they had to wait until now to get their investiture:

Rt. Hon. the Lord Hope of Craighead

Rt. Hon the Lord Patel, born in Tanzania from Asian parents.

What a wonderful day to have chosen for the garden party. The weather was just perfect, nice and bright, but not too hot.

BBC News - BNP leader Nick Griffin banned by Buckingham Palace

BNP leader Nick Griffin banned by Buckingham Palace

BNP leader Nick Griffin has been denied entry to a Buckingham Palace garden party over claims he "overtly" used his invitation for political purposes.
A spokesman said his behaviour had "increased the security threat and the potential discomfort" to other guests.
But Mr Griffin told BBC News the ban was an "absolute scandal".
All UK Euro MPs were invited to the event. The BNP's other MEP, Andrew Brons, together with Mr Griffin's wife, can still attend, the BBC understands.
Before the ban was imposed Mr Griffin, an MEP for North West England, described the Buckingham Palace invitation on the BNP website as a "highly symbolic breakthrough" for the party and e-mailed supporters asking for questions they would like him to ask the Queen.
The leader of the anti-immigration party also appeared on GMTV to talk about his invitation to the garden party

It must have been a very pleasant evening. The Queen was in a very good mood apparently. The photo of HM talking to Captain Addington is priceless!:flowers:

I'd love to be there too and meet the Prince of my Heart, William of Wales:wub:

BNP leader Nick Griffin barred from Buckingham Palace garden party after exploiting invite | Mail Online

BNP leader Nick Griffin was barred from a Buckingham Palace garden party at the last minute today after crowing about his invite.
The far-Right politician had been invited to the event, hosted by the Queen, this afternoon in his capacity as MEP and was due to go with his wife.

But the invitation was withdrawn at the 11th hour after he gave a television interview and published a message on his party's website about the occasion.

In the blog, he gloated about having 'tea with the Queen' and called his attendance a 'highly symbolic breakthrough' for the BNP

He should have been allowed to go to this event, he did not gloat, he simply stated that it was an achievement for the BNP.

Thanks I didn't miss anything

I hope I made you laugh

Trying to get party political mileage out of an event involving HM is not something that should be condoned.

That's a nice idea, a cruise to celebrate their birthdays. Tim looks quite relaxed here. :)

Thx for the pics. Princess Anne looks wonderful and I believe HM, The Queen looks wonderful in trews. Good color for her too. I do hope they have a wonderful time.

They all look good and quite excited, so to speak. It will be a refreshing experience for all of them! Hope they enjoy themselves to the full!:flowers:

After YouTube and Twitter, here is one's life on Flickr | Mail Online

She has famously given YouTube and Twitter the Royal seal of approval. Now the Queen is to establish a presence on Flickr, the picture-sharing website.

Up-to-the-minute images of the Queen and other members of the Royal Family will be streamed on to the new Buckingham Palace Flickr page which goes live tomorrow.

The site will initially store 600 images of the Royals and will have 28 sections covering senior members of the Royal Family including the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall and Princes William and Harry.

26 July '20 Birthday trip....British Royals join the Hebridean Princess in Stornaway in the Isles of Lewis at the start of a Western Isles Cruise, Scotland, UK. The boat was hired to celebrate the 50th birthday of Pr. Andrew and 60th birthday of Prss. Anne .

Mabel Anderson, nanny to The Queen's children is a guest on the Hebridean Princess cruise.
Nice to see the contact remains strong.

I believe Mable, briefly at least, also cared for Peter and/or Zara Phillips, but found the atmosphere too casual for her comfort! Poor Crawfie is in the after-world gnashing her teeth and cursing her stupidity and greed!

Looking at those two pictures side by side, its remarkable how much Anne looks like her mother. Anne's face is a bit leaner and more so like Philip but you can definitely see her mother in her.

Thanks for the pictures..
