Everybody had gotten off the ship and then Charles said goodbye to everybody and went back on the ship.

The Queen and Prince Philip were off to spend a week in the Lodge at Balmoral before moving into the castle for the rest of their holiday. Camilla had commitments in London and Wiltshire, Charles had commitments in Scotland and sailed up the Pentland Firth to disembark nearer to Castle Mey.

Just a heads up for this month's Majesty which is a brilliant issue. I find it has weeks of being excellent and being extremely poor but this month's is a good one with a nice spread on Princess Beatrice, a nice piece about Queen Caroline and some great pictures from Ascot of all the Royal Ladies. There's some pics from the Duchess of Gloucester's 60th celebrations and on the international scene there's a brilliant spread on Queen Anne-Marie and the King of Thailand. Well worth a buy.

louise look a lot like edward!
It's great see all the royal family, since te queen mother die not is usual see all together apart to the official celebrations.

The Queen has appointed Royal Patrons of Royal Navy Commands! Great to see the Duchess of Cornwall getting another honorary position. :flowers: But what about the Countess of Wessex? I know she holds three Colonel-in-Chief positions and one as a Royal Colonel, so why does she not get this kind of patron title as well?

The Prince of Wales
Commodore-in-Chief, Plymouth

Prince William
Commodore-in-Chief, Scotland
Commodore-in-Chief, Submarines

Prince Harry
Commodore-in-Chief, Small Ships and Diving

The Duchess of Cornwall

Its nice to see Prince William,Harrys and Camillas positions growing. Is Prince William Commoder-in-Cheif of all of Scotland. Thats a big position.

Will William and Harry (and Edward) get to have Navy Uniforms now?? :)

I am glad to hear that the Duchess of Cornwall is appointed Commodore-in-Chief of Naval Medical Services. And Prince William was made Commodore-in-Chief of 2 Commands at once, that's great.
Hello! has a nice article about it.

Taken from the Hello article.
Meanwhile, Prince William has been made the Commodore-in-Chief of the Navy in Scotland and of submarines, while his brother Harry is to take a similar role as the patron for small ships and diving

I think after the amalgamations, most of the Colonel in Chief posts have gone. They seem to have altered the titles to Royal Colonels for many of the old CiC positions. There are very few vacancies available with the loss of so many regiments and perhaps Sophie does not want to commit to any extra military duties..

The Queen and Andrew were in one car (chauffered) Charles and Camilla in their own, driven back to Birkhall by Charles!

How sweet! A little family outing. I think that's wonderful.

Thank you, Skydragon. I love the photos.

Camilla,Duchess of Cornwall have recycling clothing like 3 times but she looks nice outfits

It looks like Lady Sarah Chatto and her family joined them as well. They (the Queen and Lady Sarah) appear to have a close relationship. What does her husband do exactly? Is he an artist as well?

I think so, I know he used to be an actor (he played Prince Andrew once in a tv movie about Charles and Diana that was made in 1982)

Yes, i just had a look Zonk.Lady Sarah Chatto and Daniel are in there, the third photo i mean, they walked in the back, and with one of their son as well. Lady Sarah Chatto was said particularly close to cousin Charles and Camilla, and a great supporter for the marriage, so its not really surprise she joins in the holiday.

The Time Team yobs are digging the gardens at Buckingham Palace, Holyrood House and Windsor Castle tonight at 7.30pm and again tomorrow, Sunday and Monday. It's being shown on Channel 4. Very bad form to have Tony Robinson presenting - this is the man who tried to prove that the Queen isn't the legitimate monarch and he's an outspoken republican. A total champagne socialist. Ignore him and his silly comments and the programme should be worth watching.

The magazine "People" has a special edition all about Royals and it has beautiful photos of Royals.
It mainly focus on British royals but it also has some coverage on other royals.
The magazine also has coverage on royal jewels, castle, royal fashion and royal weddings.
It's worth to buy this special edition.

I bought it today. It's nicely done but I don't understand why Kate has a special section when she's not even a royal yet! It concentrates on the BRF and also the Princely Family of Monaco, probably because of Princess Grace. It did try to write about some other royal families but it's seriously lacking in the Dutch, Norwegian, Swedish, and Danish houses.

LONDON (Reuters) - The Queen Mother lived through the whole of the 20th century without once having to open or draw her bedroom curtains herself.

I do likt this one!

His wife is also said to have told Princess Anne: "Do call me Cherie." Her frosty reply: "I think not, actually."

Thank you for that, StoneCold.

I find it interesting that they report Prince William as joining the Middletons on a family holiday in Spain. I didn't know that it was a Middleton family holiday.

I'm not sure why they're claiming it's rare - these behind-the-scenes views of the workings of the monarchy seem to be rather common these days.
