It seems that those, like Ennyllorac, for example, who predicted Cristina would be pregnant with her and Inaki's fourth child, were right. People say the Kings announced it on December 2nd (baby for July 2005), but as it isn't (yest) on the Casareal website I say it's just a rumour. Hope it's true!

Who will get engaged/marry:
Pieter Christiaan and Floris (both Netherlands), Carl Philip (Sweden), Peter Phillips, Nikoloas of Greece (to someone we haven't seen before), Charles (to Camilla)

Who will announce pregnancies:
Maxima, Claire, Letitia, Angela Brown (spouse of Maximillian of Liechtenstein), Alexandra (Sayn-Wittgenstein), Alexia of Greece, Salma of Morocco, Noor of Jordan (married to Hamzah), Serena Linley

Who will separate/divorce:
Elena and Jaime, Clothilde and Emmanuelle Filiberto, Victoria and Daniel, Nikoloas (Greece) and Tatianna

Who will pass away: Ranier (Monaco), Jean (Luxembourg), Duke of Edinburgh, Angus Ogilvie

Who will abdicate: Beatrix

Well, a big list of predications. I think that you will have the most things right. But a few questions: what kind of signs have you seen that indicate a divorce for Emmanuel-Filliberto and a abdication for Beatrix???

Wow azile, indeed a lot of predictions. But I also can´t imagine that queen Beatrix will abdicate in 2004. She´s healthy, her grandchild Amalia is only one year old and I guess the feedback of the people means a lot to her after the great losses she had in private in the past year(s).

I wonder what the big "I´ve never imagined, that this could happen"-surprise of 2005 will be. Of course we can´t guess on that, because it would be too "abstract" to imagine. Or has anybody thought in the end of 2003 that princess Alexandra and prince Joachim would get seperated in 2004, or anybody at the end of 2002, that crown prince Felipe would get engaged to a TV-journalist in 2003??

She's not too old...Ok, technically, I personally would be finished with having children by the time I was her age. However, there are plenty of women, where I am from, her age or near it who are just beginning to have babies. I think another a baby would be great for this couple.

Well I would certainly hope that if Victoria announces her engagement in 2005 it would be to Daniel -- he's been her boyfriend for the past several years. If she announced an engagement to someone else that would look slimy and sneeky of her wouldn't it? To have either deceived the Swedish public (her future royal subjects) by having Daniel pretend he was her boyfriend while she snuck around and dated someone else OR to break up with Daniel and to start dating someone else and get engaged to them within the span of a year or less.

Either scenario wouldn't be very good.

I think that Clothilde and Emmanuel-Filiberto won't stay together- I've always had a feeling that there would be infidelity in this relationship and that it would be short lived. My impression of this couple is that they were as much "in love" with publicity as with each other. I could very well be wrong!!

As far as Beatrix goes... I threw that out there hoping it would start discussion and it has! Since both her mother and grandmother abdicated in favour of their own children, I wonder if Beatrix will do the same. I think she would still play a very important role in state and social matters, but slowly reduce her role to a comfortable pace. After all- her children were not that old when she became Queen and it's been an incredible stressful year for her.

There is my opinion.... for whatever it is worth.

I don't think Beatrix will be abdicating in 2005.
What else would she do if she abdicated? Sadly she has no husband to spend time with, no parents to care for, and all her sisters are married or have their own children and grandchildren to spend time with.
The best thing for Beatrix to occupy her time with for some more years is to carry on with her queen duties.
She's not in ill health to have to cut back on her work.
Amalia is barely 1 year old. Hard for Willem to spend time with her if he is reigning.
Hopefully he and Maxima will have more children so they will want to spend time with them and not miss their children's childhoods completely because they are king and queen.
