Well PollyEmma, it's more a personal note of who's on my side as it were! I knew that Queen Sofia and Queen Fabiola were catholic for example and so without going too much into it, I kept them in my prayers. Now, I don't intend to speil a list off to God each night who I am sure has better things to do with his time, but its of interest to me to know.

ah, a list of who'll have your back in a fight

always good to know...

I should make a list of protestant royals who will be on MY side should the 30 years war ever resume.

Who is on "your side"? Gee, I must be bad because I am a Protestant. The prejudice never ends on these threads!

I don't think there has to be a "point" to this thread because really, what's the point of any thread? It's all just for fun and for sharing information.

The Royal Family of Lesotho are Catholics and in Polynesia the Royal Families of Uvea, Sigave and Alo are also Catholics.

Thanks for the information, it's very interesting. I always mix up Chantal and Claude, but Chatal is indeed the younger sister who married the Baron Sambucy de Sorgue.
Let's hope it is the only reason for the postponement, as I like the two as a couple.

The other reason is said to be the will of the two families of a grand and royal wedding in Torino.

I think it's the same thing, just different names for the same thing.

Well I understand a baptism to be a Catholic ceremony whereas a christening is a Protestant one but the actual word christening means to give a christian name at a baptism i.e Mary.

See Sam? There is a big response to this thread..

It is very interesting to read just how many, especially on the German side, are Catholics.

I would have thought all the German royals -under the different duchies and geopgrahic locations, would have all been Lutheran or another Protestant religion.

So it is also educational, this thread, for me. :)

Sam, do you mean to say you don't keep Protestant royals in your prayers?

One wonders how the Queen has managed, all these years.

Thanks for the laugh Elspeth!! Her Majesty is quite resilient and I believe can stand the shock!!:p :p Besides, many thousands of others are praying for her from a myriad of religions!:) You don't have to be Protestant to wish Her Majesty well!

Well, I do but I pray that they'll bring their countries back to Rome. I think it's often been remarked that Charles practises as an Orthodox Christian - wasn't there a rumour that he was baptised secretly?
