Default What would you think of a Crown Prince's marrying a singer or actress?

What would you think if one of your Crown Prince's of your respective countries married a singer or actress?
would you want him to marry her or would you rather him not.
And would you mind if she was allowed to act and sing after the wedding? as well as official duties?

Well, it depends on who the actress or singer was.....and we would probably want her to quit it when she married!
But if it was true love and if she could be any good for the country, we would probably like it!!!!

And btw, actually CP Frederik dated a Danish singer some years ago - if they had been married it would have been the Royal family of Denmark's ending!!!!! She had a kinda weird image in Denmark, not a very good one!!!! And if it foes that way, it won't work!!!! Come on, you can't have a CP who has been in the Eurovision Song Contest or so, right?

It would depend if the royal family was ruling or not.

In a non-ruling family (Greece) it probably wouldn't be a big deal. Look at Italy and the Savoys with French actress Clotilde Cloreau.

In a ruling family, it probably would be a very big deal. How would the citizens of a country feel about their prince or princess doing love scenes with a man/woman not their royal born husband or wife? It's one thing for actors/actresses to have a no nudity clause in their contracts, but a no kissing/love scene clause? Also, movies take 3-4 months (or more) to film, which could mean that an actor is away from home for that amount of time. How could one perform royal duties with that kind of schedule?

Even if the actor/actress marrying prince/princess in question is not married to the Crown Prince or Crown Princess and has lesser royal duties (such as Laurent and Claire, Edward and Sophie, etc.) it still could interfere with some schedules, such as National Days or whatever.

Frederik and Felipe both dated actors and models and neither of them ended up marrying any of them. They opted for two women with less public careers. Even Letizia's journalism/anchor woman position was not as public in th sense of an actress' career.

The one prince likely to marry an actress would be Prince Albert. He of all his counterparts has probably dated the most actresses and modesl. And his mom was one, too. But Monaco's monarchy doesn't seem to be as conservative or traditional as some of the other royal families. (An actress as the Princess of Asturias? Never!) Monaco seems to give the Grimaldis a bit more freedom -- consider all the scandals and trials and tribulations of Stephanie.

As people have said, it depends on the family in question. In my opinion, I don't think a Crown Prince or Princess should marry an actor or a musician but, if someone loves someone else, then what can you do? Both people (the prince/ess and/or actor/musician) would be 'famous' in their own right and I don't believe that both would adapt to each other's worlds and lifestyles. There are some musicians/actors etc who would make very good kings or queens but most people in this world are just not cut out for the demanding role of being royalty. It isn't just pretty dresses and expensive jewellery; it's a very hard work.

So, my conclusion is, I don’t think, if a musician/actor married a member of the royal family, that they should keep their old job after they were married. When you agree to marry someone who is royalty, you take on those responsibilities whether you like it or not. I mean, could you image it if the future queen of (fill in country) said “oh I can’t go and meet the queen of wherever because I have to film my latest music video with all these naked men. Sorry.” Somehow, I don’t think that would really work out very well.

Just think of this; would you want Britney Spears (or any other tart) to be your Queen? I would think you would want someone who has respect and manners like most of all the other Crown Princesses.

Danielle =)

hm...singer or actress heh? well....i wouldn't mind personally as long as she ain't damn right nasty and dirty as she does have to keep the family's royal reputation in mind...and it is a rather nice thought of having a royal that earns their living rather than living of some one else's livings...and i think its great that she should continue to work even after marriage because i'm sure there aren't royal duties every second of everyday and her work can be something beneficial like some one mentioned before about donating all profits to charity ^___^

An opera singer or a theatre actress would be fine with me. Others I would look at a case by case basis. Then again there already is a Queen Latifah...

Well, i would like to be a crown prince AND a grammy/oscar winner at the same time but being tasteful so i dont embarras my country. Kinda like a Celine "Goody two shoes' Dion or in a guys case a John "goody" Mayer. But all my profits would go directly to charity.
What do you guys think

Default Royal Director

I would just like to know that given the fact that an actor/actress cannot continue acting once they marry into a royal family, would it be OK if they directed and produced instead? Not as a regular thing but say once a year or once every two years.
im just interested to know

I just think it would be so great if a Swedish or Danish etc Prince or Princess was a film director/producer, it would be so classy. But they are already classy though, but it would be nice!!

I had read an article in one magazine about Princess Grace of Monaco had been participating (as actress) in one of non commercial movie. All of the crews should call her with Her Highness at first then the protocol allows them to use word Ma'am or Madame. What a pity I can't find this old magazine anymore to find more if she also had ever directed or produced a movie (at least for non commercial one).

yes but i wonder if it would be acceptable say in the Swedish royal family if Madeleine or Carl decided to do directing, not CP Victoria as she will be queen but her siblings?

I think it would be acceptable if CP or Madeleine were directors or even writers. I mean screenwriters.

Ok there are alot of different models and modelling jobs... i would love your opinion on what models would be accepted as royal material, or why they shouldnt...

i guess nudity will definately be seen as not regal at all... thoughts feelings would be great... I know Prince Williams friend kate did lingerie modelling... are there any know princesses or queens with a beautiful past?

sure models can be princesses if they have a clean profile ^___^ i think most people can be royals as long as they just meet royal requirements which i assume means a good, clean past with nothing that can be damaging to the family or the future ^___^
