I was thinking that we could try and find the signatures of the Royals of Luxembourg. I was board, but, thought it would be cool to see if we could find them. Perhaps, Grand Duke Henri - Grand Duchess Maria-Teresa - Guillaume- and so on? Anyone else know.??

This is pretty cool, I found this on Corbis.com, it is the marriage certificate from the marriage of HRH Prince Guillaume and Princess Sybilla, also has the signatures of Grand Duke Jean and Grand Duchess Josephine-Charlotte.

Can we clarify what these documents are about? Just mostly looks like Congratulatory letters and cards.

The one I posted from the royal family in The Netherlands, was a thank-you-letter for the people, because of all the condolences the royal family received after the death of Prince Claus of The Netherlands.

This is nice to see...

Juan Carlos R. and Sofia R.

Why the other sovereigns (Jean I and Joséphine-Charlotte of Luxembourg) don't use to sign their names with "R", "GD" or "P"?

I also know HM Queen Elizabeth II of Great-Britain used to sogn "Elizabeth R".

"R" stands for the latin word Rex(king) or Regina(queen). FOr example, in Latin, The queen of England's name is Elizabetha Regina Secunda. Using the latin has come down from early times and now is just shortened with the "R". (btw: Charles will be Carolinus Rex Tertio, if he chooses the name Charles). As far as the other heads of state, I guess that using the latin form just isn't a practice that has evolved over the years, and sometimes there is not that good of a latin translation for "archduke", etc. I'm sure that it depends on the tradition of each country.
