Spanish Royal Family for their hardwork, loving family, and very close to their people....

and

Norwegian Royal Family for their down-to-earth nature, and seem closely related to us, younger generation...

Spanish Royal Family, because all members work a lot, and they are all very nice and easygoing persons.

Luxembourg Grand Ducal Family, they seem to be all so Happy and very close to eachothers. I think they (specially the GD Maria Teresa) really care about the People.

Default Ideal Family

The ideal family is one without major scandals. That lets out the Windsors! It is ironic that George VI and Queen Mother Elizabeth did so well. That family swings from model to scandal. George III and Charlotte - model. George IV - zero. Victoria and Albert - model. Edward VII - philanderer of all time. George V and Mary - apparently model (in spite of their Nazi-sympathizer son Edward :().

That criterion also leaves the Grimaldis out.

There are many contenders: Sweden :), Norway :), Denmark :), the Netherlands :), Belgium :), Luxembourg :), and Spain :).

Maybe there are two tests:
* Members are happy and, for royalty,
* Service to country.

For me, it would have to the The Grimaldis! I know that probably sounds weird but I can't stand those families that seem so prefect! I hate all that lovey-dovey bs. I like to see a "real" family, one with all the problems that "real" families have (or well, extremely rich families). Every family is dysfunctional one way or the other! If you can't see it, is fine, but when you try to act like your in Leave it to Beaver, that's when I just want to vomit! (Not that any royal family is doing that, but some just seem to close for me!)

even the most ideal family has problems but really...i think the grimaldi family's problems are beyond the pale.I dont know anyone whose lives are live that.

I like the dutch royal family. they're not perfect. but they love each other and do their best for their country.

I think that to say you is most ideal, you must think which familt you would most want to be a part of. If you do that then, you think that family is most ideal.

For me it's the Grimaldi's - hard working, normal because of their scandals and not in spite of them ands really beautiful and glamourous.:)

But, then there's Norway, a close family who isn't arrogant or conceited enough to dislike Mette-Marit on first appearance. They saw her for who she is and didn't judge her. And Martha-Louise is so down-to-earth - a great sister-in-law to have!:)

Denmark for their ability to move with the times, although Noway seems to be doing that a little more successfully at the moment, but adding CP Mary to the family certainly helped the Danish RF.

Sweden is always, underneath it all, respectable and stabele. I don't think they've had any serious scandals - at least not any that have lasted.

The Netherlands - Maxima (and Claus before her) marrying into the family proved that the Royal Family is open minded and accepting enough to see beyond a person or their family's mistakes and see that person for who he/she is now. I really respect Queen Beatrix, the Dutch RF and the Dutch people for seeing Maxima for who she is and not judging her for her father's mistakes.:)

Belgium - Because I love Mathilde! The love between her and Phillipe is just so beautiful to see and they have 3 beautiful children to add to and strengthen their love.

I admit that I don't know much about the Spanish RF, but I do respect King Juan Carlos for bringing democracy back to his country.:)

Maybe I missed something, but I said choose the RF that you would most like to be a part of and that would be the one that you would consider to be ideal, I never mentioned anything about sisters fighting. But, then it's late here so I'm not thinking very well right now!:o

exactly. my comment was on your saying that the grimaldis are your ideal and you'd like to be one of them. you are ofcourse free to think that but i was saying that I can't share your opinion.

Caroline and Stephanie seem to be constantly estranged from each other. steph wasnt even invited to Caroline's wedding.there is always frostiness there.

i havent experienced this much personally but I think it would be very tough to be in a family with sibling tension. they'd want you to choose sides, it would be uncomfortable on holidays, family reunions etc.

in short my ideal family is one like the bernadottes or the oranjes where (to all appearances) the siblings get along.

I said mine would be the Grimaldi's, but then there are the other families to consider.

I think in terms of glamour the Grimaldi's are in the lead, but in terms of harmony the Norwegian, Danish, Netherlands, & Belgian RF are the most ideal.

I suppose Europe is very lucky right now, they have so many well-run and seemingly happy families at the moment.

Yes, Monaco is the exception but I think that the problem with Caroline and Stephanie is that Caroline sort of became a surrogate mum to Stephanie after Grace died. She probably looks at Steph's mistakes with a mother's perspective of disappointment and sadness because she thinks that she could have prevented them.
Also, Caroline loves her country and her mother, she may be upset that Steph's mistakes has disgraced both of them.

Mine is defo the grimaldi's purely because they seem to have come out very strongly from all their scandals and tragedies. I mean just look at them all throughout Albert's Enthronement!! And they are so cool and beautiful!!!
