Camilla had uneven skin coloring on her face from years of being outdoors. I don't know too much about botox but her coloring and wrinkles could have been evened out from skin treatments instead.

I notice things like bone structure and Mary has very interesting yet very unusual bone structure. As far as I can tell she's always had the same bone structure. So we can safely assume she hasn't gotten a nose job, or her cheekbones heightened or her chin worked on-this would cause her bone structure to look different and her bone structure looks the same as it always did. This is the most common cosmetic surgery that younger women get.

A facelift for a young woman is way too premature. I haven't heard about Botox being used to prevent wrinkles but if so that's really going over the edge. At least the effects aren't permanent so the women can stop the madness before they go too far.

I think Diana would have had something done. Botox for sure. Remeber she was a fashion icon and celebrity and I am sure she would not have wanted to lose her youth and beaty. Her nose did look different. Not a complete nose job but a little something done. Can someone post a pic of The Duchess of Alba. Isnt she the one with the most titles in the world. Im not a big fan of plastic surgery. I only agree with it if it is to fix something disproportional. I dont think people should have it to stop or slow the ageing process. If it is unnatural it will look unnatural.

Default duchess of alba

The duchess of Alba has a disease, which caused the actual appearance of her face...

What kind of "desease"???? At least she has all the typical signs of a plastic surgery-addict.

It doesn't matter to me whether these women and men decide to have some work done. If it makes them feel better about themselves why should we care? Does it change the way you feel about them becasue they had a little nip, tuck, or injection?

Maybe we should focus on their good works they do for their people rather than guessing whether or not they had surgery or if they are unattractive because of it.

Unfortunately Glittering Tiara, we live in an image obssessed world. Hence why I'm having a nose-job in February. You buy into the public craving for roman good looks and you end up convincing yourself you need these things. I suppose the Royals feel the same way.

For some reason I have always felt royals to be above cosmetic surgery (I know it must sound silly). They are royal! A king, Queen, Prince or Princess... If they feel the need to have it then I say good on them but if they are happy and content with the effects of age and gravity then good on them also. I dont really look for whose had this done or that...they are royal and to me thats all that matters. I think HM the Queen Margrethe looks just fine the way she is as do all the other royal ladies (or gents) who have opted for the "gorwing older gracefully" look.

That's a good point, BeatrixFan.

For me, I always notice a person's personality, their inner beauty rather than their outward appearence and I live in L.A.! I'm surrounded by this obsession of having plastic surgery and for me it's just not that important enough to discuss nor worry about. But, I should tell you, since you were so honest to admit, I've had a nose fixed, but not for vanity purposes.
I was an accident whereupon surgery was an absolute. Of course, I had asked my surgeon to change a little here and there, but his response to me was, "I will only correct things that will look as if nothing happened. No more. No less." To this day nobody, only those close to me, knows that I had my nose corrected after the accident.

If the royals of the world wish to go under the knife more power to them. It doesn't matter to me as long as they are happy and continue to represent their country in a positive light, well, that's the important thing.

GlitteringTiaras,

I'm afraid I'm just a very vain person and in the last year, I've had teeth whitening and straightening and a chemical peel. And next year, I'm having my nose fixed. I'm planning to stop before I end up like Joan Rivers but a little win on the lottery has come in very handy for nip and tuck!

For some, image is more important that the job the Royals do. And thats a terrible thing.

I would't say that you are a vain person, BeatrixFan.

I've had braces for two years when I was a teenager, I use Por-Activ to keep my skin clear, mani's & pedi's once a week, I've had my teeth whitened, every six weeks I have my hair trimmed as well as colored with lowlights & highlights, during the winter I sometimes use the fake n' bake salon to give me a little glow (I hate the tanning creams. My skin always looks orange), four times a week for three hours you can find me at the gym or yoga class, and as for dieting, well, I'm very strict about that. Does that make me a vain person? I see it as being normal or as a womans routine maintence . You are no different than any other normal woman in this world, BeatrixFan, and the fixtures you seek cannot be considered vain; at least not in my book.

If it makes you feel better, go for it! But as I always say, inner confidence, kindness, compassion, and strength is ones true beauty, that's what counts! And I know you have those qualities... we all do.

Margrethe II, I feel the same way you do. I'd prefer they didn't have alterations because then I would always be saying to myself "I wonder what she/he REALLY looks like". That is, if nature had been allowed to take its course. Besides that, we'd be robbed of seeing family resemblances going back through the years, and I love doing that. :)

edit: I don't mean that makeup, hairstyling, foundation garments and such should be off limits too!!!

Hey now, I can recommend some good products to everyone. Now that I'm no longer a teenager I've realized loose powder & a nice colored NARS gloss are essential. :)

You are right, as long as you look better with a little plastic surgery it is fine! But unfotunately so many women have done too much and look worse than they need....

Well, I'm in the process of pickling my innards in Gin so they should remain preserved for some time.
