I believe she still is a beautiful woman. The only difference, really, is that she went under the knife as well as had (still continues to have) Botox injections. Perhaps she uses Juvederm as well, but who knows.

I don't see what the big deal is. Furthermore, if a woman decides to have some major work done or have fillers injected every seven months, why should anyone preach to them or rather care? It's not your body.

If a woman feels better about herself by having Botox or Juvederm stuffed into her nasal folds as well as lips more power to her. If a woman feels more confident having the tip of her nose reshaped or by having 400cc implants why should it irritate you? You're not in her shoes.

One can dislike it, but to lecture as well as gossip about a woman who does is simply pointless. Not every single woman on this planet ages gracefully (or was decent looking to begin with.) Those who are, are a rare breed.

Yes, I am pro-plastic surgery and proud of member of that club.

By the way, this post is not specifically directed towards anyone in particular.
I'm with you GT! But I'm still (at 44) a bit squeamish about anything that requires cut and stitch. Anything injectable I'm OK with. In NY, CA, FL this is very much considered part of good grooming. Not much different than getting you teeth bleached chicklet white. I will say that if done by a good plastic surgeon/dermatologist injectables take 10 years off in a very natural way with no down time.

I think that Queen Silvia of Sweden needs to lay off of whatever she is doing. Her face looks like a mask. She was, and probably still is, an attractive woman, but her face looks horrible.

I think that Queen Silvia still looks good, but like many of you, she needs to lay off of whatever she's doing for a while, although I think that once bitten by the bug of cosmetic alterations and how they make you feel at the time, we can look forward to her coming back from these trips to South America looking more and more unlike herself year after year. I hope I am wrong but something tells me I'm not.

For those in the public eye, it must be trying have camera lenses focused on their faces each time they step outside. Photographs of their faces are enlarged and published on magazine covers. Every blemish, wrinkle and age spot has been magnified by telescopic camera lenses. There is no shortage of photographs to compare past youth to one's current age. Queen Sylvia has always been beautiful - and I think that she still is. I have always thought that her appeal, beauty and charm came from the inside. Yes, her plastic surgery transformation is dramatic and startling. Maybe a person in her position needs a little extra cosmetic help to feel confident and comfortable when aging in the public eye.

i agree with you! when you are young and you are beautiful it is difficult to age even if you are not in the public eyes.
now if you are young and ugly aging is not a big deal.
i love queen sylvia!

You're right about Sylvia. There's nothing wrong with having plastic surgery whatsoever, but I believe the problem with Her Majesty was that she did too much in a short period of time.

Perhaps if she did it little by little (a little here, a little there), like Mariah Carey, no one would have really noticed all that much. Some would whisper that she looks "refreshed" instead of looking permanently wind blown.

Unfortunately, it's too late to correct her work otherwise she may end up looking like this. If she wants Botox and/or Juvederm for fine lines and nasal folds... fine. But nothing more.

The ANSWER lies in the flare of the nostrils.

Look at how the nostril are most flared in ANY women, or Man, who has had work done!

Also, ANY woman who has nil, or next to nil facial fissures and wrinkles, over the age of 40 has had something done to her to forestall the ravages of time, and more power to ANYONE who has the TIME and MONEY to do what they feel they must do to turn back the hands of time!

You can also tell by how the skin on the neck looks compared to the skin of the face. The neck usually gives a person's true age away, and if the skin is really tight on the face, but the neck looks aged, then you know that some work has been done.

Princess Micahael certainly has and I thinK Camilla has aswell, though non invasive. Since her wedding, I've noted on ocassion that Camilla's face has seemed smooth in certain areas. Mainly around her lips, cheeks and eyes.

Of course such treatment is a temporary enhancement and judging by recent photo's of the Duchess, she hasn't had anything done recently.

The shape of her face is different now as well due to the hairline being set back and sitting a bit higher - a frequent side effect of a face lift, just look at Princess Michael.
In Princess Michael's case, I actually like the result, but I'm having a hard time getting used to Queen Silvia's 'New face'. The fact that she feels she needs this is her own private business IMO, Queen or not, so I don't condemn her at all, it's just that the whole issue makes me feel rather sad...

GOOD for you for coming out and admitting as much.
Many women are coy about their proceedures.
In LA. amongst the well-to-do, Aesthetic Surgery is common-place ... almost past time, especially if one has to be camera-ready, as The Stars do.
I should think you'd feel out of place if you didn't have something done.
