This was just a rumor like many other rumors (ex. her ex had a previous marriage before her, she had a tied tube, fertility treatment, Leonor was an IVF baby blah blah blah etc) that had never been confirmed by any credible source. Letizia bought her own apartment at the beginning of 2002 (the same apartment Erika lived after her sister's engagement) and lived there on her own until the engagement.

No, it is not just a rumour at all. Do you think seriously that Letizia had only one man , her 1st husband in her life before Felipe? Letizia 's ex-colleagues knew about their relationship. The Spanish court has power in the Spanish media. It is no accident that her all previous affairs are censored in the Spanish press by royal court. People wonder why her divorce papers, wedding photos, videos and their previous relations keep in secret?

Any rumor started out with ex-colleagues, friends of ex-colleagues, friends of friends who knew friends of Letizia, her family members or her doctor .
You didn't read my post properly, you need to read the things I highlighted. I never said that Letizia didn't have a relation with Tejera when she met Felipe in 2002 (maybe Felipe was also seeing another woman), but most of the details you wrote were pure rumors. Letizia's previous relations had been censored in the Spanish press ? You got to be kidding. Even the King's affairs haven't been censored these days, go buy a copy of Jaime Penafiel's new book . Her previous marriage/divorce was not only about her, also her ex-husband, who is a private citizen. Thus anything related to their marriage or divorce is a private matter. Her ex said theirs was not other people's business, he has every right to do so.

There was an opinion piece in a Norwegian newspaper (in Norwegian) a while back on the age of consent, and they mention that the age of consent in Spain is 13 (raised from 12 in 1999. I remember this, because it was fairly shocking to me when I read it the first time.)
