A beautiful picture of William hugging one of the survivors of 7/7 at todays event. Such a comforting hug!
Today, Crown Princess Mary has make a visit to Aarhus University Hospital with (and as patron of) the Danish Heart Association:
Lovely pictures of Mary and the "heart children". She is so good with children and takes her very good time to each of them.

What is a residence permit? I love crown Princess Victoria with the kids- she seems so at ease with them. KCG, not so much! Perhaps her Majesty Queen Silvia would've been a better choice for this engagement!
Permission by the authorities for someone to take residence, usually the permit is limited to a certain time frame (these are issued to students wanting a semester abroad, people who want to work abroad for a limited time frame or asylum seekers once they got granted asylum). The residence permit is one step below the right of unlimited residence, when someone gets granted the right to live in the country forever. The residence permit is also one step above the exceptional leave to remain, which is often granted week by week and where deportation always lingers. I believe (if someone knows better, please correct me), that this has been standardized throughout the Schengen area, so I think the above (which is the system we use here in Germany) is valid for Sweden, too. (EU, Schengen, Eurozone, it does get confusing, even for us EU citizens.)What is a residence permit?
I agree; the poor man was looking like a fish out of water. Though he gets lots of brownie points for trying. I'm sure the kids appreciated the effort. Victoria is a pleasure when it comes to children. She's very natural, and at ease when in their company.

Shortly. They know they are allowed to stay for a few weeks, the people in school there are getting school while waiting to know if they will be allowed to stay in Sweden for a few years. They are refugees.First- Oh I agree! He definitely gets brownie points for trying!
Second-
Mary is on a three-day working visit to New York (September 27 to 29), but there was also time to a relaxed visit to Nordic Food Festival and Mary got a warm welcome and had a blast baking with the children.

I love the expression on the little girl's face in the 2nd photo- like " Wow!" . The little girl in the 3rd photo and some of the other photos is adorable. The baking photos themselves are cute- " A little baking, a little eating, hey why not?" . @ Daria- you should invite Mary to baking lessons at your work. Do let me know when she comes.
( She would be ideal for leading baking lessons at " our " school.
