Yeah Princess Stephanie Daughter Camille had her Pacifier until she was about 6 a very long time .

That's a long time. It was probably some sort of comfort to her, like some kids suck their thumbs or have stuffed animals or blankets. I never used a pacifier, but my younger brother had one til he was three. My mom hated that.

yeah my niece is ony one but we have been trying to get her off the pacifier but I think she will have it for a long time she wakes up in the middle of the night to look for it puts it back in her mouth and goes back to sleep. Btw Princess Stephanie herself sucked her thumb till she was in her early teens.

I've noticed that some royal babies use the same pacifier, or at least the same type of pacifier. I've seen a ton of pictures of Irene Undangarin in that white and pink pacifier, and the same type in white and light blue. I think it's very cute. It seems like Sverre Magnus and Ingrid Alexander used MAM pacifiers, as my two-year-old nephew likes a blue MAM pacifier that looked awfully similar to the one Ingrid used, and almost identical to Sverre Magnus' blue pacifier. I also see that Avent bottles are pretty common. Prince Christian of Denmark seemed to use something like a Gerber Nuk, and it looked like his mother was holding a Nuk in her hand for Princess Isabella.

Thank you acdc1 for posting this !

I am d-r-e-a-m-i-n-g of getting this ugly stuff out of my son's mouth... He is now 3 years and 8 months and I'd love to eventually SEE HIS FACE in full without any pacifier !

So it is a relief for me to learn that even in "good families" they have such cases ! :ROFLMAO:

Yes, even royal toddlers and parents have to go through getting their kids out of pacifiers and other habits. Irene Urdangarin is two and still has a pacifier, Ingrid Alexandra of Norway had one for a good while, so did Maud Angelica and Leah Isadora, Princess Martha Louise's daughters, and goodness knows everyone hopes they don't have to deal with a Stephanie of Monaco situation, who had a six year old with a pacifier. When their that age, people tend to stare. I remember my brother being three with one, and my mother trying everything to get him out of it. Finally she put some kind of thing on there that tasted bad. That cured him of it quicker than we thought!

I think that Irene is extremely attached to this Suavinex pacifier, as she has it in a couple colors and is seen wearing it often. She looks absolutely adorable with her chubby cheeks! In one picture I saw of the event (not sure what it is, must be something in winter) a man pretented to take it and she looked frightened for a minute! She's a cutie.

Irene Urdangarin can often be seen wearing a Suavinex pacifier. I don't think they sell them in the US, it's too sad, they are so cute and trendy! We've seen her wearing, as far as I know, pink and blue. They look like they also come in orange and green. http://www.theroyalforums.com/forums/370044-post51.html

And I can't translate that article, but I think all that it does is describe the pacifier and it's features. I just posted it because I couldn't find a good picture of the dummy itself.

I hope the Supload one's work!

From Corbis.

Iñaki Urdangarín is not the only one who needs a pacifier! His wife, Infanta Cristina, held one in her mouth during Irene's baptism.

Dear acdc1, I have some difficulties to see your pic. ( I don't know why, but it's very frequent with TinyPic )

I'm very found of Victoria Frederica, but I find that now in public she has to avoid to have her socks in her hand.

At least in public, because she is becoming a sympathetic young girl, elegant ( her socks is always matching up with the color of her dress ) and affective as a great sister with her little cousin Leonor

It was funny because during this photosession the infanta Elena was hidding the " delictual object " in her hand until that Victoria Frederica decide with her brother to pick up Leonor to go to prom! So sympathetic!

I have the feeling, but may be I'm wrong, that the Princess of Asturias has a good politic with the pacifier.

For Leonor, it's clear that she used it as still as it was useful, but since Leonor is one year old, no pic of the Little Infanta with a pacifier. It dosen't mean that she dosen't used in private, but when you see Leonor you can Think that the time of the pacifier is over.

For little Sofia, I think that it will be the same strategy, ok during the time when it's very necessary, but as soon as possible the Princess of Asturias will try to avoid the use of the pacifier, that she is doing half for the official pics.

That is so funny because I thought it was like a kleenex because she had a cold or something. I forgot all about the sock, isn't this a different one from the other picture I saw her with it? I thought the other one was red. Funny how kids get attached to things.

In your opinion, is the fetiche socks are hereditary ?

Great question and a begining of answer :

Nació el hijo de los Príncipes de Asturias

In this picture, you can sort of see Miguel with a pacifier. And sorry I can't tell you where it's from, I only know a little Spanish, so I can't read the top.

I thought that Victoria would be done with her socks by now, it's fine if she has it in private, but it looks a little odd when she has it at a photoshoot and she's how old now? Seven or eight? Kids in the SRF seem to hold on to habits a while, Victoria with the sock, Irene and I think Miguel had pacifiers for a while, Irene is two and still has one. Well, Ingrid of Norway still has her white bear for comfort and she's nearing four. And some of us regular people (me included) have special stuffed animals. I slept with one until I was twelve!

Does Leonor suck her thumb sometimes? In a few pictures it looks as if she does. There's nothing wrong with it, she's still very little.

hey acdc1!
in that pic, Miguel was a little over 2 years old, it was the summer of 2004:wub:
Pacifiers can be used till the age of 3, after that, it's not good for the development of kids
Leo sucks her thumb, just like every other kid has done in the story of time;)
Victoria is really a bit old for "transicional objects" such as her sock, those are usually present when the kid is starting school or so, to act as a security blanket for them (around the age of 4-5, they leave that one), and she's almost 7, so I guess it's time to correct that;)

First Leo has suked her thumb, right !
Then, you are right for Victoria Frederica!! Ein, Zwei, Trei as told me my german nanny when I was a very little girl when she had decided to do very strongly for or against me :D:lol:

:princess2:The princess of Asturias told me the best way to quit the thumb is the pacifier

and she explained to me that as Leonor is very "coquette" she didn't like that and she quited immediatly!!! ( or quiet:D)

Fantastic ! We are very proud of our Infantita International in her fight against the thumb and the pacifier...:princess3::clap::D

Does anyone have the picture of Sverre with a blue pacifier?

Prince Christian used a pacifier, but I've only seen pictures of him with it two times. Both pics are from Danish Royal Watchers.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v488/lotte52/drws2/07/4298147.jpg This one was new to me. It's from back in February, around Mary's birthday, so Christian was about 13 or 14 months old at that time. I wonder if he still uses one. BTW, what kind of stroller or carriage is he riding in?

This is of Irene, who looks to be quite sleepy! It seems to be one of her favorites. Oringinally from the Royal Family of Spain Current Events XVII thread.

well I think Irene is a bit to old for using pacifier during the day of course!
