The Crown Princely (yes, I know Guillaume and Stephanie are not Crown Prince and Princess) couples of Norway, Luxembourg, Denmark and Sweden at the annual heirs meeting, this time hosted at CP Haakon and CP Mette-Marit's summer home in the Norwegian island of Tjøme:

I like that this meeting continues even though three of the couples have now moved on to a new group. Perhaps we'll see CP Hussein attending in the next decade. :)

And Grand Duke Jean of Luxembourg also in the 2002 Golden Jubilee Garter Procession.

Thanks Ladyfinn.
Prince Axel , Georg 's Father does not seem very happy.
He was Prince Valdemar's only son to marry a Royal Higness , Princess of Sweden.

I like Princess/GD Josephine Charlotte being there . She was close to her scandinavian family. Princess Margaretha , her Aunt is the Godmother od her daughter Princess Margaretha , Princess Niklaus of Liechtenstein

I always find it so odd in these older pictures that so many people did not look at the photographer. Was it a sign of status to so obviously look away/and or not smile? Or was there no warning about the imminent snap? Does anyone know the custom?

On behalf of the people of Norway, H.M. King Olav V presented this memorial stone to H.M. King Carl XVI Gustaf on 14 June 1983. The memorial expresses Norway’s gratitude to Sweden for the equipment and training provided to 14,700 Norwegian military policemen – on Swedish soil – during World War II.

a picture of mary meeting queen elizabeth at ascot, with edward in the background:

is this the only picture there is of them together at ascot? i also wonder if this is the first time mary met the queen, at least publicly.

i bumped into this picture from 2005:

Princess Anne, Princess Mette-Marit, Sophie Countess of Wessex and Queen Sonja of Norway attend the Private View of 'Style and Splendour: Queen Maud of Norway's Wardrobe' exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum February 1, 2005 in London.

i liked this picture of catharina amalia greeting silvia of sweden:

Thanks Carlota, I hadn't seen this photo before of the Queen and Mary at Royal Ascot.
I often imagine all the royals as a private little club. They can mix freely with one another and speak there minds without worrying about it appearing in the media.
Mary would have met The Queen at Prince Charles's 60 th birthday party in London. But that was a private event.
