Very very sad. I wish I had not taken place at all. I hope the world is not such an event ever again. I wish the families of patience.

:norwaystandard::dutchstandard:

The Norwegian Court published all letters of condolence by other Royal Houses.Last week HM Queen Beatrix of The Netherlands called King Harald,a dear and close life-long friend,to convey her utter shock and condolences.Now the Norwegian Court also published the text of her Telegram:

" His Majesty the King of Norway,

Deeply shocked by the news of the appalling bomb attack in Oslo and the cruel shooting of so many innocent young people at Utoya island,I wish to convey to you my heartfelt sympathy.I condole with the families of those who lost their lives.The people of The Netherlands share the heavy grief of the people of Norway."

Such a senseless and tragic thing to happen. So very impressed w/how The Royal Family have been trying to help Norway through this awful period in their History.

Thanks to one and all for the links to various articles and videos.

To the People of Norway: My deepest sympathy over your irreparable loss. We in the United States know your pain because we have been where you are now. We have experienced that feeling of sadness, mournfulness, and utter frustration at the senselessness of the whole thing. May God be merciful in his ministrations to the surviving victims, to the families who lost loved ones, and to the citizens of Norway. God bless you all.

CP Mette-Marit attended the gathering for Red Cross volunteers and employees who have taken part in the rescue efforts in the wake of the terror attacks today, August 1, 2011.

Sunday august 21st has been declared a National Day of mourning in Norway.The entire Royal Family,including HRH Princess Astrid,will attend the Memorial Service at Oslo Cathedral.

They haven't got a good relationship:
(Original Post of Sgl in Thread MM's Family)
"Magazine Se og Hor is reporting that there is a conflict going on between Mette-Marit's mother and her step-sons regarding some paintings that belonged to her now-deceased husband, Rolf Berntsen. They have been arguing about the things he left behind after his death, and now the step-sons have reported MM's mother for theft of the paintings. They claim that she has stolen 6 works of art from the family home. MM's mother denies this, and the fight over the inheritance continues. She has not been arrested, and formal charges from a court have not been made.

I would also very angry, if anybody says about my mother, that she is a thief and calls police. We all know, how much MM loves her mother. I think it is the reason, why she not attend to the funeral.

Are any members of the Norwegian royal family scheduled to attend?

Strange that there are no pics yet of the royal family today

Very, very moving service. King Haral cried during his speech & a-ha came back out of retirement to sing "stay on these roads".

Marius sat next to Ari Behn.
