It looks a bit like the hats worn by Queen Alexandra of Great Britain... maybe she's bringing them back in fashion? :)

I think she has borrowed it from Märtha Louise, she wore the same or a very similar to the funeral of Count Flemming

MM no doubt will champion a new style of non-hats. :)

I mean ... this thing brings to mind that feather creation she wore last year to Frederik's (or was it to Felipe's) wedding.

imho MM is the only one of the royal CPss's who has the pizzazz to wear such creations.

... she's continuing the wonderful Norwegian royal lady trend in avant-gard-ism vis-a-vis clothes patterning. Would like to know which of these two (Sonia or Martha-Luise) encouraged MM to these "concoctions"?
And if it was the other of these two to provide the affirmation of splendid style in this department?

The King and Queen will be in attendance at a memorial service this Sunday when the coffins of seven Norwegians who died in the tseunami will be returned to Norway.
