Norwegian Christmas 2005

In a few weeks, we'll see the Norwegian RF celebrating christmas...

any idea where they'll spend it? in skaugum like last year, or somewhere else?

This year there will be one more prince, the new born child of Mette Marit and Haakon.

i think its lovely to see a all of the family around a christmas tree and princess mette marit looks radiant despite being preagant , but looks great

I read somewhere that the crown prince and his family will celebrate christmas eve at Skaugum (their estate) with Mette-Marit's family and Marius (who's alternating between his mother and father every other year). The King, Queen, Märtha, Ari and their two daughters will celebrate christmas eve at Kongsseteren (the royal lodge) with traditional guests. Skaugum and Kongsseteren is not far from Oslo and the family will probably meet quite a lot during the holidays.

i expect them to do their annual christmas photo session? any news already on the venue for that? skaugum, royal palace of oslo, or kongsseteren?
and where will they attend christmas day church service.
as for the christmas eve, i remembered on 2003, haakon & marius attend the one near skaugum.

No news on the christmas photosession, usually in the days close to x-mas. one year they had a really awful one, just the grown ups outside Akershus palace after visiting the royal graves, the press was disapointed they did not get a nice one at the royal lodge like they did in 2000

2000 at the royal lodge, mostly Marius and the Queen with the polarbear skin

2001 Roay lodge, decorating the three and posing

2002 Akershus, Märtha was not there, boooring and grey, not at al x-massy

2003 At the palace. Maud Angelica and Sonja stole the show, Mette-Marit was pregnant, King Harald on sick leave, Marius was not there. Haakon and Mette-Marit also had one with Marius posing infront of the x-mas three at Skaugum the same day

2004 Haakon and Mette-Marit had one at Skaugum baking and then one with the whole family also at Skaugum in the days before x-mas.

Usually the royals attend church on christmas day at the Homenkollen chapel, that is close to the royal lodge.

On new years day they usually go to Asker church which is the parish church for Skaugum, the bishop of Oslo leads the service.

In 2003 Haakon and Marius went to christmas service in Asker church
