I have said it before but those photoagencys that cover the Norwregian royals day to day activities, Scanpix, Alloverpress and se og hør/Brainpix are closed and therfor we usually only see pics if they make it to the online papers, or if colorpress or ukpress happen to be there which is not common, atleast not for the King and Queen. Getty/Corbis/Polfoto sometimes cover them abroad and big events in Norway.
www.anb.no sometimes cover events in Oslo and usually all gala dinners, and then put some of the pictures without watermark at www.siste.no later
TV2 will broadcast tonights show tomorrow so i I would expect them to put up some photos of todays event here
That beeing said I think the most highprofile event will be the gala on Sunday since there are people from all over the country invited, this event was just the royals and politicians
One more from nettavisen

Flowers and decorations for the Palace ball
The historical surroundings around the Palace ball will be underlined by exhibiting different decorational items, mostly silver that has been gifts to the royal family for different anniversaries. These items represents the best of Norwegian art traditions from different time-periods from1900-2000, many of them are very rarely seen and used. They will be placed chronological and thematic in each room where the guests will move trough and it is a good opportunity to show of the Palace treasures
Flowers
During the palace ball the exhibited silver will have focus and the flowers are chosen not to overpower the silver, but will be used to create life. It has been important to highlight traditions in the choice of flowers; the colours are green, lime green and white. It will be used among other flowers Roses, Carnations, Hortensia, Calla lilies, Ivy, grapes, lichens and grass
|
Then there is a detailed explanation of the decoration in the different rooms but that is too much to translate

why doesn't intl photo agency (like getty, polfoto, corbis, seegerpress, etc) didn't cover this gala ball? because i've seen them do coverage for other norwegian royal events. so, why can't this gala too?
|
I was also quite disappointed about the coverage. Just a bit in the news on tv and that was it :( I just hope NRK is planning to make a programme about it, that they will show at a later time (perhaps during the Christmas holidays, that's when they usually have such hearty, good value programmes!)

I belive the Palace practices "Pool photography" that means that only a few photo agencys are allowed inside. I have not seen gala pictures that are not credited to ANB, SCANPIX or ALL OVER PRESS that I can remember. You never see such hords of photographers as the spanish court allow. They also let the two main TV channels take pictures. When the Swedish royals payed a visit, IBL which is a swedish company was also allowed there. I suspect that when the Spanish Royal couple will make a statevisit in the early summer 2006 we will se more pictures as they will probably let inn some of the agencys that usually cover the spanish royals.
That beeing said there are hudrets of pictures ar www.anb.no but most of them look the same from the greeting and are of bad quality so its no point to put more of them here, Im disappointed www.siste.no has not made a photogallery of this gala they usually do it.
