Occupied Norway. May 17th, somewhere in North-Norway. According to German authorities May 17th celebrations were forbidden, as was waving the Norwegian flag. These farm children defy the ban and stage a private parade.

Skaugum, May 17th 1973. The crown prince and princess wave at the passing children's parade from the steps of their country residence, Skaugum. Crown Princess Sonja, Crown Prince Harald and Princess Martha Louise (waving white anemones) greet the crowd. Crown Princess Sonja is pregnant and expecting a child in September.
