As I wrote in the above post, NTB Scanpix has (as I thought they would) put up a photo-gallery.

Photo-gallery from NTB Scanpix - more than 250 photos from yesterday:
https://scanpix.no/spWebApp/search.a...edspris%202017

Watch the whole ceremony here - the Royal Family arrives at 7:25 - they leave at 1:35:00:

See the NRK broadcast in my above post.

By me: There has been some concern on twitter and facebook because the King appears to have lost weight after his infection and hospital stay.

60 photos from the concert yesterday evening:
https://scanpix.no/spWebApp/search.a...konsert%202017

NRK1 sent the concert live from 19:45 to 22:15, but it's just available in Norway, so I don't see any point in posting it here.

Here's a short video of Crown Princess Mette-Marit and her two children attending the Save the Children's Nobel Peace Prize party before the Nocel ceremony.

Great to see that Ingrid Alexandra and Sverre Magnus made an appearance at the Nobels this year - they both look so grown up! Ingrid Alexandra also looks a lot like Mette-Marit now, more so than Haakon, which is who I thought she resembled most before.

The republican MP for the republican Socialist Left Party, Petter Eide (read about him here), said in the Storting (the parliament) that he doesn't want the Royal Family to sit in front (see photo) during The Nobel-Peace-Prize Ceremony, which takes place in The Oslo-City-Hall's main hall (on Dec 10th).
Why? Because he believes that ''the price is not perceived as independent from Norwegian authorities as long as the head of state and his/her family are sitting on the first row.''

Whaaaaat???? Oh, give me a BIG break!!

1. The chairman of the Norwegian Nobel-Committee, Berit Reiss-Andersen (read about her here), doesn't agree - and I am quite sure that this goes for most of the MPs in the Storting as well.
2. And the fact is that as long as the King (as Norway's apolitical constitutional head of state, hence the highest person in the land) and his family (who accompanies/represents him) are invited (state event or not), they'll sit at the front row!!!!
3. But Aftenposten (serious Liberal conservative newspaper) had to make big deal out of what Eide said and wrote an article about it, which was copied by NTB (The Norwegian News Agency) who then wrote a shorter version of it - and sent it out to several other media-outlets. - And suddenly this was something that was discussed on TV2 News Channel (yes, on television).

Hmm, yes, I'm still laughing!

Well, from The Socialist Left Party-stuff about the attendance of the RF in the above post to speculation whether the Crown Princess will be present or not, because as I wrote in the ''Current Events'' thread, she is not listed in the calender yet. - But according to the court (who's spoken to TV2's Royal Expert Kjell Arne Totland), she plans to take part (''if she's up to it'').

Well, the Nobel-day is here, so let's go through the royal events from the official court-calendar:

His Royal Highness The Crown Prince visits the Save the Children Peace Prize Party at the Nobel Peace Centre (Oslo, 11:30).

His Majesty The King grants the Nobel Peace Prize Laureates, Mr Denis Mukwege and Ms Nadia Murad, audience at The Royal Palace. Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal Highness The Crown Prince will also be in attendance (12:00).

His Majesty The King attends the Nobel Peace Prize Award Ceremony at Oslo City Hall. Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal Highness The Crown Prince will also be in attendance (13:00).

Their Majesties The King and Queen attend the banquet in honour of the Nobel Peace Prize Laureates at Grand Hotel in Oslo. His Royal Highness The Crown Prince will also be in attendance (19:30).

And as one can see, The Crown Princess is still not listed to attend, so perhaps she wasn't up to it after all.

--------------------

Let's also go through the royal part of The Award Ceremony in detail:

The royals will drive in state-cars from The Royal Palace to Oslo City Hall, where they'll be met by The Mayor of Oslo (Marianne Borgen), The Chairman of the Norwegian Nobel Committee (Berit Reiss-Andersen) - who will accompany The King, and The director of the Norwegian Nobel Institute (Olav Njølstad) - who will accompany The Queen, into the main hall, while ''Forsvarets stabsmusikkorps'' (''The Staff Band of the Norwegian Armed Forces'') will play ''parademarsj'' (''Parade March fanfare''). The Royals will then be sited in the royal chairs (see photo), before they leave in the same way after about 90-minutes.

--------------------

Television-Coverage:

The state-owned Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation's and Norway's largest TV-Channel NRK1: Will send live from 11:20 to 14:30.

TV2 News Channel, owned by The TV2 Group, Norway's largest commercial media company: Will send live throughout the day.

--------------------

BTW: There will be no Nobel Peace Prize Concert this year (which usually takes place the day after the Award Ceremony), read why in English here.
Although a smaller concert was held outside The Oslo City Hall yesterday evening, which was attended by the two Prize-winners, but without any participation from the royals. - It was sent live on NRK1 from 20:15 to 21:25.

--------------------

And last but not least, IMO, two very worthy Laureates this year. - Read about them here:

Denis Mukwege - Wikipedia

Nadia Murad - Wikipedia

--------------------

Watch here from now: NRK-live-link. - TV2-live-link.

The Crown Princess is present with The Crown Prince at The Nobel Peace Centre - and seems to be in great spirit.

BTW: See detailed information about the day - and live-links in the above post (which was written 20-min ago).

Thanks iceflower!

The guests have arrived (including The President of The Storting, The Prime Minister, Government-Ministers and several MPs). We are now only waiting for the Laureates and the royals, who will arrive shortly.

The Award Ceremony will start at 13:00 (in about 10-minutes from now) - see live-links from NRK/TV2 and detailed information in post 611.

--------------------

Edit: The Regent/CP Couples have arrived.

Edit: The Crown Princess in high spirit, smiling happily.

The Ceremony is now over - and almost the whole hall (including the royals) seemed moved by the quite powerful speeches of the two Laureates.

Since the Getty-Gallery from iceflower isn't fully updated yet, here's one from Belga (link).

If you didn't had the chance to see it live, well, then one can watch it in this NRK-link in post 611. - Or watch it here with English commentary:

There are now several photos from the private black-tie banquet at Grand Hotel in Oslo in the above Belga-gallery (and a newly added NRK-link with the entire Award Ceremony).

See the royals arrive at Grand at time 23:40 in this NRK-video.

And yes, both The Queen and The Crown Princess look great this evening.

Does anyone know why the banquet of the Nobel Peace Prize is not a white-tie event?

Well, most likely something to do with Norway being an egalitarian society, and that the banquet is hosted by The Norwegian Nobel Committee and not The King.

Well, you can read about it in detail in the fourth part of post 611, where I posted a link from The Norwegian Nobel Institute about it.
