The King and Queen, The Crown Prince and Crown Princess, Princess Astrid, Mrs Ferner will attend the traditional Holmenkollen Ski Jumping Festival.

I just heard that the weather is Oslo next Sunday is supposed to be vey bad; so the annual Holmenkollen-Skijumping might be cancelled.

I hope the weather will be okay...

Queen Margrethe II of Denmark will attend as well.

Today the King and Princess Astrid attended the Country Cross Skiing Competition at the Holmenkollen.


Former Norwegian skier Bjoern Daehlie was awarded the price for 'Best Norwegian skier of all time' by Harald, the king of Norway in Holmenkollen, Norway, 08 March 2008, on the occassion of the Cross County World Cup.

Thank you sooo much for all the pictures. This is a lovely day for the family.
QM cant go missing with her colorful ski jacket. The pictures of Queen Sonja & QM together are sweet.
Im liking MM's hair, very different also matching the style is Ingrid. This is also a pretty picture of Ingrid & Haakon

Interesting how both Mummy and Ingrid ended with braids.

It's actually the last time that the old Holmenkollen is being jumped in, in a competition, if I remember right. They're starting renovations, and expansions soon to meet the demands from the ski-jump federation.

Yes, exactly.

Actually they will break down the whole ski-jump and build a completely new one. A more... let's say "professional" one.

So, there will be no Ski-Jumping Competition next year. We will have to wait until 2010 to see the Royal Family at the brandnew Holmenkollen-jump again.
There also won't be any Country-Cross or Biathlon competitions at the Holmenkollen next year.

Love Mette-Marit's and Ingrid's braids. Both looked very cute. I wonder why Marius and Magnus weren't there, though. Maybe Marius was with his father, or they were sick, or something.

Why aren't they going to have one of these next year?

Lovely picures. Nice to see the Danish Queen here as well. It's always great to see Princes Ingrid Alexandra. She looks so sweet with her braids, and I noticed she is wearing traditional sami shoes. I liked the pictures of her with her grandfather the King.
