HM is to unveil two names of the future Ports at what is called the Tweede Maasvlakte, land gained from the sea off Hoek of Holland.
The Ports are build by the Rotterdam Port Authority,Rotterdam was for decades the number one port in the world both in tonnage and
capacity. They've lost that position to Singapore or Shanghai I believe, but is adamment to gain that position back. And it will.

The exhibition is especially put together for the grand opening of the Hermitage Amsterdam, and never before has this
special collection of top pieces at one time left the Hermitage St.Petersburg.All in all there will be 1800 objects
on display,150 of those being (court-)dresses,uniforms and costumes. The dresses will be on display on specially designed moving plateaux.
To display several of the other top pieces there's a hole in the roof as the Empress Catherine the Great's State Coach will
be on display as well and through the roof is the only possible way to get that marvel in.
In one wing you will feel like a guest at an Audience with the Tsar,in another you will feel as a guest at a Court Ball,
Nicky's precious stones studded costume of the famous Ball will be on display as well.
The opening for the public will be on june 20th,and in touch with St.Petersburg, the opening will be celebrated with a
White Night Festival so the museum will be open for 24 hours during which there will be festive activities and concerts
throughout the museum, the inner court and along the Amstel river.
It will be impressive, touching, marvellous and enchanting, all in one.
To top it off, think blini's with caviar and champagne.....

In the presence of Queen Beatrix, the exhibition ‘Calvin & Us’ was opened in the Grote Kerk (Great Church) in Dordrecht on thursday night, as on July 10th it will be 500 years ago that John Calvin was born. The exhibition wants to show the caricatures that still exist about the church reformer of the 16th century, says Prof. Dr. Herman Selderhuis. John Calvin was not a man for long sermons and boring sunday’s. ‘He is often portrayed with his finger pointing upwards, not as a know-it-all, but to point to God’ says Selderhuis in ‘Het Nederlands Dagblad’.
Selderhuis also referred to the tragedy in Apeldoorn on April 30th. ‘What real calvinism is, we were able to witness last wee’k. When on a bright day it became dark all of a sudden. Ramsey Nasr, national poet, opened the exhibition with a poem about John Calvin, which he wrote especially for this occassion. In the poem he is searching for God and for the ‘Calvin in me”. Queen Bearix, who was received with applause, was the first one to get a tour after the exhibition was opened.
