I don't know where to put this, but today, March 9, would have been the 50th anniversary of Princess Beatrix's marriage to Claus von Amsberg in Amsterdam. Here is a lovely tribute from het Parool, the Amsterdam newspaper.

It was sad that Claus died before all but one of his grandchildren were born. Eloise was born four months before his death but he was so sick by then, I don't know if he would have seen/known her.

Claus in 2002, both parents in 2004, Friso in 2013, she has suffered a lot of loss in the last decade and a half. Luckily her remaining two sons, eight grandchildren and her sisters with their kids are there to keep her going.

Princess Beatrix opened the Roosevelt Information Centre in Oud-Vossemeer today, April 20. Oud-Vossemeer is the place where, according to the municipality, the ancestors of the former US Presidents Theodore Roosevelt and Franklin Delano Roosevelt came from.

Princess Beatrix attended the opening of the exhibition "Bosch, the 5th Centenary Exhibition" at the Prado Museum in Madrid in presence of King Felipe and Queen Letizia today, May 30. The exhibition marks the 5th centenary of the death of Dutch painter Jheronimus Bosch.

Princess Beatrix attended the "Muscles2Meet - Neuromuscular Young Talent Symposium" in Zeist today, June 10. The symposium is an initiative of the Princess Beatrix Spier Fund, Beatrix is Patron of since 1956, and is directed at young researchers in the muscle diseases field.

HRH can look forward to another hayday on Her agenda as she will open the exhibition "European Stars,Miló and Cobra at the Danubiana Meulensteen Art Museum at Bratislava,Slovakia on june 30th.

HRH,an accomplished artist herself,has a pendant for contemporary art.
