Child of:Hereditary Prince (arveprins) Frederik of Denmark and Sophie Frederikke of Mecklenburg

Marriage: 1829 to Caroline of Denmark

Death: 1863

Notes:
Heir presumptive from 1848-63. As he died childless*, before his nephew, Frederik VII, the throne went to Christian IX.


*) Childless in marriage. Ferdinand had two daughters with his mistress before he married.
