Congratulations to the couple! I am a bit surprised about the name, although it is a beautiful one. I thought maybe the baby would be named after PA's mother or even Haya as they seem to be very close

Congratulations to the couple, not too sure about the name but as long as they like it that's what counts.

I wonder why everyone is so surprised about the name. It is an old Hashemite name, and it is one that is also used in North Africa. Princess Jalila was the sister of Princess Badiya for whom I assume Princess Badiya El Hassan is named. I think think the young couple have shown some imagination instead of sticking to the eternal Alias and Zeins that have been rather over used. I wish them all the best and the new born a long and happy and healthy life, Insh'Allah .

I can't speak for others, but I am surprised because I was expecting the name to be possibly after one on his sisters, or other immediate female relatives. I know that they themselves were probably named after female ancestors. However, I do like the baby's name. It's similar to my own daughter's name.

Congratulations to Princess Rym and Prince Ali!
I think Jalilah is a beautiful name.

I'm glad they did research to find a fitting name.

I look forward to seeing pictures soon!

it would have been natural to name the baby Alia, though ali's half- sis is named Alia. Anyway, the name is very beautiful and congrats to Ali and Rym, I always had a feeling he would have a baby girl, i think he will spoil her, hope Rym will soon get pregnant again, any pix of mum and baby?

I think we will be expecting some pics soon as soon as he king and Queen Arrive in Jordan and go visit Rym.

is it a Hashemite name ? that sounds fine....KH would have been so proud of Ali and of baby Jalilah.

That is exactly why I find their choice imaginative and refreshing. There are so many duplicate and triplicate names within the familyjust in the last couple of generations: Many Husseins and Abdullahs, three Aishas, three Zeins, two Alias, two Imans, three Talals, two Ghazis and so on. Must get complicated.

I agree, it is refreshing. It's just that we are use to the duplication, and that is why I it surprised me. Anyhow, I am genuinely happy for the couple. I, like many others, can't wait to see photos of the couple, and their new addition. :)
