Anyway, I am a bit disappointed that he did not have American friends. I really wish he did. That kind of makes me sad. I just don't understand why he would not want American friends. So does your friend have anymore contact w/ him or is it the end sine he left Georgetown. Also what was his hair like and how did he dress? Ok I really did not mean that question (but if you know the answer, don't hesitate to). So did your friiend know of any Americans that he hanged out with at all? Thank you.
I think they probably had American friends, but maybe their closest friends were non-Americans

He didn't have any bodyguards, the only time he might have would have been when King Abdullah came for his honorary degree. I think the other Jordanians definitely had American friends, but my friend got the impression that P.Hashim didn't like hanging out with Americans very much at all, and really didn't hang out with Georgetown students. I mean, he was older than most people in his class...

According to Georgetown people, he wore his hair kind of longish, wore Jeans and t-shirts or polo shirts a lot. Sounds like a typical american college boy. His car was a Silver GM Yukon (SUV)

It seems like there are a lot of Muslims at Georgetown U---and it also seems like all the Jordanian royals end up attending Georgetown sooner or later!:)

HI all this is my first posting. Maybe P.Hamzah will go back to his unit which he was in charge of. But i guess he may have bigger role to play. Also for P. Hashem he is i think a first liuetnant or captian, so there is possibiltiy for him to go back there.

Any talk on his recent interest in traditional dress?

Salaam jordan_frist! Does anyone have any ideas on why Hashim is so into the traditional dress besides the fact that he looks so good in it?

well, i don't know if you are asking just jordan_frist or everyone, shkspreNLov, but i think it's a form of power play...hashem looks much more like his mother than his father so he has to assert his arab heritage i think by dressing in traditional robes...i mean, if you put him in a suit, i think anyone who did not know who we was would think him and american or a european...plus, the fact that hashem and the rest of noor's family have been gradually sidelined after the death of king hussein means that both hashem and now hamzah must create some base of support if they won't any signficant role in jordan's future...wearing traditional clothes is just a subtle way of doing that and i'm sure it works. i remember reading that imran khan - a pakistani politician - started wearing traditional clothing and he quickly established legitamacy...

it's a very smart politcal move...either that or he just finds the clothes more comfortable!! :)

Well I hope it is for more political moves than identity. If he feels that he needs to wears the robes to feel Arabic (that should come from the inside and from familial and national solidarity) then I will be very concerned and sad. But politics is ok.
