Princess Reem Ali patronizes Press Freedom Day ceremony

Amman, May 8 (Petra) – HRH Princess Reem Ali, on Sunday, patronized a ceremony celebrating Press Freedom Day, which was coupled with a discussion on this issue at the Royal Film Commission.

During the discussion, State Minister for Media Affairs and Communication, Muhammad Momani, said press and speech freedoms in Jordan are distinguished and upheld, saying efforts underway to advance press freedoms.

The minister said no information of public concern is withheld from citizens or the media community, stressing that the right to access information should be managed in a civilized and responsible fashion.
 
Princess Rym inaugurates media exhibition

AMMAN — HRH Princess Rym Ali, the founder of the Jordan Media Institute (JMI), on Tuesday inaugurated an eight-day media exhibition titled “The Great Arab Revolt in the eyes of the world”, organised by JMI in cooperation with the US embassy in Amman.

The exhibition comprises 500 paintings from US and Arab media sources, some of which are showcased for the first time, according to a JMI statement. JMI Dean Basim Tweissi said that the documentary exhibition provides a chance for the new generation to see how the world looked at the revolt.

US Ambassador Alice G. Wells said that the exhibition includes photos by US journalist and writer Lowell Thomas that reflect “the nobility of the revolt leaders”.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gyC39RVADtE

Princess Rym, who heads the Jordan's Royal Film Commission, announced a new film festival in Amman for June 2018, as she attended the 70th Cannes Film Festival on May 22, and later that day attended the screening of 'Happy End' also as part of the Cannes Festival:

Prince Ali turns 42

Amman, Dec. 22 (Petra) -- Saturday marks the 42nd birthday of HRH Prince Ali, who was born on December 23, 1975 to Their Majesties the late King Hussein and the late Queen Alia.

Prince Ali began his primary education at the Islamic Educational College in Amman and continued his studies in the UK and the US, before graduating from Salisbury School in Connecticut in 1993, where he excelled in sports, particularly wrestling.

He then joined the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, where he was awarded the Brunei Medal for Excellence, and was commissioned as an officer in 1994.

Before continuing his studies in the US, Prince Ali served in the Special Forces as a pathfinder, earning his military freefall parachute wings.

A delegation from the Royal Film Commission – Jordan (RFC), headed by HRH Princess Rym Ali (RFC’s Commissioner), visited recently major Hollywood studios in Los Angeles. The RFC invited several American producers to a gathering, during which it announced its new incentive film program, whereby a cash rebate of up to 20% is granted to productions shooting in the Kingdom.
