I read on Salon.com that Rym would be working as a journalist after she got married. Who knows. Different sources say different things. I guess the only thing is to wait and see.

It depends what you means by 'works'. It would be diffcult for an immediate member of the JRF who all recieve money from the 'Privy Purse' to do salaried work in Jordan, but there are those who feel that they ought to give something back in exchange for their allowance. There are many honarary chairmanships and patronages etc. but I suppose a convenient way of assessing the involvement in an institution or project would be to gauge if the royal patron/chairman/president were to withdraw their support would it make a huge amount of difference to their smooth running, or would they just get someone else to cut their ribbons ? If that is the criteria, the workers are : P Hassan, P. Basma, P. Sarvath, Farah Dagistani, P. Sumaya, P. Rashid. P. Rahma was very active for years with the El Hassan Youth Award Scheme, and was also an International Trustee of the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme but has withdraw slightly now as she has a young child. I do not know about the other younger members of the family, but all of P. Hassan's children worked outside of Jordan after taking their degrees and before returning home : P. Rahma worked as a researcher with human rights lawyer Bassiouni in Chicago; P. Sumaya worked at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London ; P. Badiya with UNHCR in Geneva and New York, and P. Rashid was part of the Nato Rapid Reponse Force as part of his secondment to the Light Dragoons Regiment. P. Feisal is Chief of the Royal Jordanian Airforce but it is difficult to asses how involved he is in the decision making process as there are officers who are senior to him in terms of years and experience.

Oooops....I forgot to add P. Alia Al Hussein to the above list. Under her direction, the Royal Stud has improved considerable and is now internationally recognised as a centre of excellence and she herself is much in demand all over the world as a Arab Horse judge.

I guess that is a matter of opinion. She looks like she could be his age. He does look happy, though.

She is from my country, she is in her early 30s, her father is in his late70s, he had her late.

The avatar of Prince Ali that appears in my posts, could anyone tell me about how old he was when that picture was taken? I think that is one of the best looking pictures I have seen of him.

I agree, that's the best picture of him that I have ever seen.. up until the recent pictures with Rym - he always looked dark and depressed.. he looks better now.. but that picture is definitely his best..

The count down has begun...31 days left to Sept 7th. I'm so happy for these two. I wonder what her dress will look like? I hope she does something pretty with her hair. Maybe we will get to see her other siblings, which I just found out she has two other siblings.

Thank you Marlene, but I have been told several times it is only a celebration. Still, wouldn't she be wearing some form of wedding dress? And of course she can still do something pretty with her hair. :flower:

sommone....i am also excited for the walimah.

i think what rym will be wearing depends on her. some girls go the big traditional white dress route but i would guess rym will go for something more modern and sophistcated-kinda like her. i don't mean sophisticated in the 'gorgeous clothes' sense but in the 'knows her way around the world' sense.
