:previous: some very famous former athletes attending, quoting one of the pics:
Laureus Academy Chairman Sean Fitzpatrick with Laureus Academy Members Daley Thompson,Dawn Fraser, Tegla Loroupe,Sergey Bubka,Nawal El Moutawakel,Edwin Moses

bigger turn out than for your average "city run"

(and yes, an event i would have guessed P.Charlene would be interested in too, but i don't think she was there...maybe at some event for her own foundation or something, who knows)

Trainers? That's my kind of gala

Aren't the kids going to school nowadays? or can they skip school for several weeks (honest question, don't know what the school rules are in Monaco)

Apart from that, that Charlene posts thepics now, does not necessarily mean they are taken now..:flowers:

But to be honest, I'm not surprised at all that Charlene is not attending the gala ?

I'm surprised because she always usually attends. I agree about the kids being taken out of school a lot too. I know it's only pre-school but still.

Albert works very very hard...too hard imo. And with his exhaustion health scare late last year I am becoming concerned for him.

If his consort refuses to pick up the pace and lighten the load by taking on more duties I wish SOMEONE in the family would.

Jacques is far too young at this point to succeed his father.

Yes, one feels that if he asked her to open a fete in Monaco it wouldn't happen but if he asked her to do something in S Africa she'd be there in a shot. She's going over again soon for a horse race but never accompanies him on any official trips in Europe which are only ever 1 to 3 hours away and solo engagements for her in Monaco are practically non existent these days. Even if he did want heirs surely he could have found a young woman who would also have been willing to do the job of Princess properly.
