Charlene is the one thats been invited.
It is possible that she has been invited of her own accord, as a friend of the Princess not as Prince Alberts date. Just like Eva Sannum attended the norwegian wedding as a friend of Mette-Marit.

No they are not on the list. Thats quite puzzling, because it's not like they have only chosen 2 members of each royal house to attend. There are 11 members of the Danish royal family attending, 6 members of the Norwegian one.

^I see...I would have liked to see at least Caroline in the wedding. It's ... like weird that Charlene was invited and Caroline not. I mean, officially, Charlene is not member of the Monegasque House. But, as you said, Eva Sannum in her moment was invited as friend. Charlene could possibly have been invited as a friend of Victoria?
And, yes, it's puzzling not to see Caroline, when other houses have more than one guest invited.

I read that the newspaper list was directly from Sweden's Parliment list.

Atricia, we are talking about the wedding of Crown Princess Victoria
of Sweden and Daniel Westling that will take place on June 19, the
article you've found and posted is about her younger sister Princess
Madeleine, she had been engaged as well, but the engagement was
broken a week ago.

About Charlene being invited I would say it's not such a big surprise,
surely a special wish of Crown Princess Victoria who gets along very
well with Prince Albert and has made similar experiences.

It's no surprise that Princess Stephanie isn't invited, she never has
been to any very official royal event. Princess Caroline could have
been invited as Prince Ernst-August's wife, representing the House
of Hanover, but as we know things a difficult and vague in that
marriage at the moment.

And we should not forget one very important thing: the Princely
house of Monaco is a princely not a royal house, that means in
a lower rank according to the court protocol, so less members
of such a family are invited. Plus: the bonds to families like the
Danish ones are much stronger.

Yes the invites were sent by the Swedish parliament.
Just to clarify the wedding I am referring to is Princess Victoria's not Princess Madeleines.

I wonder if Charlene will walk into the ceremony on Albert's arm or if she will go in alone or with another escort as Eva Sannum did at Haakon & Mette-Marit's wedding? As far as I am aware although Eva Sannum attended the wedding she didn't walk in with Prince Felipe.

I guess that is the changing traditions or restrictions of the up and coming royals who aren't set on keeping the old etiquette rules that their parents and grandparents did with regard to partners that weren't official members of royal houses (ie fiancee/fiance or wife/husband).

I am sure though that Victoria would have liked to have had a partner at a few of the events she had to attend alone because tradition or royal etiquette didn't allow her to bring a companion along.

(Please note that I personally have nothing against royal etiquette old or new and it was just an observation or thought)

As to Caroline, she may have got something else planned in June, and it's not as if she hasn't seen plenty of weddings and smililar events in her 50+ years...

As to Charlene, she can surely benefit from attending such an event. It might give her a bit more polish which may help her when attending other high profile functions.

Iceflower very good observations.

Does anyone know if Prince Ernst-August Was invited to the wedding?
I did not see him on the published list.

Thank u for info.

Speaking of Charlene Wittstock attending the Swedish Royal wedding with Prince Albert of Monaco....
Did Prince Nickolas of Greece take his then girlfriend Tatianna to Prince Joachim of Denmarks wedding? When did they become engaged was it before or after Joachim's wedding?
Didn't she also attend a Royal Christening with Pr. Nickolas in Denmark?

Tatiana and Nikolaos got engaged on 28th December 2009.
They attended the wedding of Marie and Joachim which was in 2008, and they attended the christening of Prince Henrik which was in July 2009, not Prince Nikolai

I do not think Charlene would have been invited if not for her power by association with PA.The last time there was an event in Sweden I remember Caro and Albert went because Rainier rarely left the Principality in the final years.Whether it is Eva S or Charlene W I do not think it is appropriate that CW goes. Pandit Nehru www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jawaharlal_Nehru of India was widowed for many years and may have had many ladies that he courted but his official hostess and companion publically was his daughter Indira Gandhi[married to Feroz].I do believe they should marry first and then attend these once in a lifetime functions and not vice versa.

Well if she weren't dating PA, she would never of met Princess Victoria so thats obvious.
I disagree with you, I think it's wonderful she's being recognised as his official companion at such an occasion.

This is not truly "recognition" in the classical sense of the word. Agree to disagree.

Once again, thank you for the info,

So Tatiana did attend the wedding of Pr.Joachim when she was still Pr.Nickolaos girlfriend. Then there is precedence it's been done before CHarlene and Pr. Albert?

I agree with what you say it is quite nice she has been recognized(as Tatiana was recognized in Prince Nickolaos life at that time.)

See we don't know that Albert requested her attendance. Victoria could've invited Charlene without Albert's hinting, just out of kindness and recognition.

Why is it necessary to " single out" Charlene by invitation to P Victoria's nuptials in Albert's life rather than Pa giving her the status outright first? The inverted approach is a bit uncomfortable for my tastes.I think William and Harry of England are going to attend without their recognizable companions.
Instead of Charlene I think Princess Antoinette was the more politically correct individual to invite along with Pa.

Princess Antoinette has never been invited to any royal event of
another royal family outside Monaco, she's 89 years old and no
longer in the line of succession, she has led an unconventional
life just like her nieces and nephew, so political correctness may
not be the question here
