I think Albert would do well to look at Prince Charles' life. Charles married Diana who was far too young for him and was miserable, now he is so much happier. I was and am a great admirer of Diana, but as with Charlene the age gap was / is just too great.
Maybe Albert should look for someone more his age who would be an asset to Monaco, not by being a beautiful clothes horse, but by being a good partner to him, she could be a business woman, she does not have to be beautiful, just elegant and confident. In fact if she was not beautiful it would stop comparisons with his mother Grace.

I am not very into the RF of Monaco; so just a question:

Is Charlene still an active swimmer? So does she still start at competitions?

Sorry, I don't think any of us know the answer to that question. Her coach might also be asking the same thing.

Thanks, because somehow all these pics of unknown dates start getting confusing. Besides this week swimming started again, so the pool is pretty much high traffic area from now on (or at least it will be starting next week). When the schools aren't using it, the club is.

The last we heard officially was a small SA news article that quoted her coach at the beginning of August saying she asked for a month off but was still hopeful about making the 2008 Olympics. So in short until we hear something official or it is evident from her actions we won't know.

Well, since it looks like she's in Monaco and still going around with Albert (from the dates in the most recent pics anyway #52 ), clearly she's not in SA swimming with any of the National Squad just yet. That does not mean she could not join them eventually, I just wonder how long they'll want to wait for her (if they are actually waiting for her, that is).

imo-u tell me, if u had no job waiting(none that we know of) , and what u have train for a lot of years was possibly coming to an end again w/o a job waiting ahead of you (again i dont know if she will or does have a job waiting for her). how long would u and what would u put up with?

that's a good question semi.

i would guess that Team South Africa is not really waiting for CW, but that is just my opinion. think how would u feel if u were an athlete that had been working so hard to place in the sports national and international rankings and then the coaches let someone walk into the games just whenever they felt ready? and they do have rules for when someone has to declare their intentions to swim or not.

imo, team SA is not waiting for CW, and she made a decision to move to Monaco to be an escort/girlfriend/friend/guest for PA, no looking back.

but of course, she could get serious about it and try for next year's squad or she might just stay right where she is going around with Albert - he could ask his friends to make some calls and put her on the Monaco payroll somehow. again, that's just my opinion.

she did get a nice settlement from the lawsuit when PA sued the magazine, so that should give her some money for a while. good for her!

some people would put up with a lot of things for a very long time to live on the rock and go places with Albert (he is a very nice man, i've read), especially if as u say there may not be much else to pick from and if there are any choices, they may not be nearly as interesting.

so staying on at Monaco for as long as possible looks pretty good, doesn't it?

sunshine, parties, get to dress up and go to nice places, eat haute cuisine at private dinners, live in haute apartments, hang out with the jet set and meet interesting people, if someone takes the wrong picture and publishes it, you can get some nice spending money for your purse.

all the fab perks with no serious responsibility or commitment to anything at all except having fun...

all CW needs to do is be nice and keep Albert from getting bored and not get herself all crazy.

What I think are…

1. PA will not get marry with CW. It is very shame for him to pick CW because most crown princes always pick good women with good education (leave Norway alone). Moreover, P. Rainier said that most Europe crown princes don’t like his son. You can see from the day that PA was enthronement……..
- Only crown prince of Lichtenstein and crown princess of Sweden came to Monaco.
- Denmark, UK, and Luxembourg represented by brother, brother with wife, and son.
- Spain, Belgium, Norway, and Holland …………..…!!!!!!
Seem like PA lost his face and I think PA knows what that mean.

So, if he gets marry with CW, he probably knows what will happen to his wedding day!!!!!!

2. Since Olympic in Turin, CW never looks good in public eyes, and PA doesn’t look good, too. So, PA wants to erase all bad image of CW by taking CW to everywhere and offer good treat with spotlight as CW wants so that she gets good attention from public as she really wants. So, by the end of their official opinion, CW can have good experience and good memory about PA forever.

3. When PA and CW get money from Paris Match for the issue of pre-honeymoon in Maldives, PA will let CW goes. Then, it will probably be the end of their official companion, and PA will find new woman. But if CW doesn’t go, so I don’t know.

4 I think PA wants public attention, too. Just like Grace Kelly who loves spotlights.

I find your comments interesting. Here is my input regarding your post.

Some of the younger princesses are educated and had careers before they married into royalty. There are some who only had a high school education. As far as Charlene not having a high school diploma remains to be seen. I only read where she did not put emphasis on education. I never read she was a high school drop out. This is what people rumored she is uneducated. Maybe they thought she should be more advanced in education, like a college degree since she was dating a prince.

I have also read where PR had some major concerns about his son. He really wanted PA to settle down and have a family. I read where he told PA it is lonely at the top. To have a wife would eliminate the loneliness. PR also told him to watch out for his enemies because there are a lot of people who will pretend they like him but really do not. There are a lot of mean spirited people in the royal circle that will snub him because of his inheritance. PR told PA to protect himself in certain situations because people will judge him. This was good advice PR gave his son. PA was very protected by his father. PR was seasoned and experienced from being a prince of Monaco many years. During his ruling, PR was aware of the types of people his son would encounter. PR met people from all walks of life during his ruling of Monaco. He could smell a fake from a mile long. I truly believe this is why he constantly counseled his son to be cognizant of the people he associated with, especially women. His father disliked most of the women PA associated with probably because they were not sincere.

PA stated that he missed his mother because she could have given him guidance. It is sad he missed out on this guidance. It would have helped him handle his affairs.

PA stated he will not marry in the near or distant future. What’s his reason for prolonging marriage, who knows? People are not privy to what goes on behind closed doors, they only know what is speculated and rumored by the media. Please beware of the media planting seeds in the mind. The information does not always bear good fruits. However, I will remain optimistic that one day he will get married and have a family.

PA will not marry Charlene because he made that announcement while actively involved with her. If his intimate feelings were strong, he would not have made that statement. She is his companion for now and when they both get tired of the relationship, both will move on. This is MHO.

I do agree with you when you stated PA wants public acceptance. Who accepts being shunned or constantly criticized for everything they do? The media feels he created this cesspool of chaos. It is easy to find fault when not being in the situation. PA is not perfect. People put him on this pedestal, he never requested to be. People call him slurry names and say he is a disgrace or worthless. It is very convenient to criticize someone by being a bystander or a heckler sitting in the audience, once you step on stage, you get a different perspective. I enjoyed reading your post

Crown Princess Mette-Marit has finished high school with a diploma that allowed her access to the university and is currently enrolled as student at Oslo university where she studies at the faculty of Social Sciences and Arts. Of course being a mother of three and a representative for Norway does not allow for full-times studies but I'm convinced that the princess in due time will pass an exam for an academic degree.

First, nice post Lynda. Jo my problem with Charlene is her behavior when she is with Albert. From what I know of Mette-Marit she has worked hard to overcome her past and has not done anything to insult the Crown so I have not fault with her. Charlene has not let us know what she is currently doing that includes what might be left of her swimming career. She has allowed herself to be portrayed as a party girl in the present tense. Mette-Marit put that image well behind her before their engagement was announced. Smart girl.
