There are new photographs of Prince Albert and Charlene Wittstock at the Olympics on many of the picture websites. A few of them are these from the Isifa site:

Also Abaca has photographs available, but I am not able to post the entire link as the link keeps changing to something else whenever I post it.

To see the Abaca photographs, everyone will have to copy the link below into your browser address bar, and put "http://www." directly in front of "abacausa.com" in your address bar for the link to work. Don't put any spaces between the words, or else it won't work.

Charlene and Albert

There is a picture with Charlene standing up in the bleechers giving a 2 thumbs up to the Monaco team coming on stage. Personal opinion, she looks like an idiot and so does Albert in some of the photos.

i respect your opinion in a way you are right because charlene said she have a arm injury that she cannot compete but she does not have any problem playing a cheer leader and enjoying all the spotlight she is getting from the press, if she want people to see her in different light is time she and albert get their act together.:nonono:

Well, it's not very dignified that's for sure. Charlene for me has always lacked polish and thus far has failed to attain it. I agree Albert doesn't look much better in some of them either. What a lovely couple!

It's o.k to show your support for your team. Charlene was doing what PA was doing I don't believe she care for Monaco. The Bush was cheering too and waving their flags.

I agree.

Come on folks...it's the Olympic games! Would you consider going to see your favorite team without cheering for them when they're doing well? And, if you don't have a favorite team or even enjoy sports - then you have no ground to criticize someone doing what you have never done.

I'm a pretty conservative guy, but when I'm watching my favorite team...I just go nuts! When the game's over, then I go back to being the "conservative". My wife does the same.

They weren't even playing. It was the walking of the nations. I love sports, go crazy over swimming and soccer, and am currently watching the Olympics, but that's because it's the actual game itself. Notice how I didn't say a thing about Albert and Charlene's excitement during the swim heats, and why would I? They're enjoying the competition. There's a difference.

As always, TRF becomes overly critical of trivial things....

Thumbs up is an internationally understood way of saying " all ok - ready to go". Perfectly ok -

Thumbs up has nothing to do with cheerleading. Who said she is supposed to be competing. If she is no longer interested in making swimming her fulltime occupation so what. Enjoy life with Albert - swimming competitively is a very short-term occupation anyway. I hope she has a grand time at the OS and that Albert is treating her like a "queen".

it depend on the way you see things, if he going to treat her as a Queen a ring will prove it more untill then kiss hand or smile don't say much yet???

Well, here's my two-cents on this. If it was the parade of Nations at the opening ceremony (which I believe it was) when she gave the two thumbs up it wasn't very dignified. Had she been "just a spectator" I doubt anyone would have had a problem with it, but since she was accompanying a head of state she should have chosen to stand with him and applaud. If it was at a sporting contest and she was pleased, it wouldn't have been out of line. SMDouglas makes a good point but again the difference is when the thumbs up took place. At a ceremony like the parade of Nations it was inappropriate at one of the sporting venues during a competition, she can get away with it.

In my opinion, It was inapproriate for Charlene as "girlfriend" to be standing there giving the 2 thumbs up, she is not representing Monaco. Albert as the head of state did the appropriate thing, stood up and waived and i believe gave the thumbs up, however, she, as his guest, should of just stood there and smiled, that would have been the appropriate and dignified thing to do. If you look at other photographs of her at the Olympics most of them show her mugging for the camera. Not Cool!

My, my. All this hubub over a thumbs up sign. I think it is great when Royals get involved in supporting their teams. Most of the dignitaries waved at their teams when the passed by the box. The way Charlene and Prince Albert act is nothing compared to how Princess Maxima and Prince W-A behave. The Dutch royals are a lot more rowdy than Charlene and Prince Albert. And why not? It is fun to cheer on your team

I really dislike it when people take my statements out of context. I was describing the difference between being at a ceremony like the parade of Nations which requires one set of behavior and a sporting contest in which another set of behavior is acceptable. Please when you quote people be sure to include the context. Thank you.

I agree with Hibou, but let's move away from this talk. I'm sorry I disagreed so much, and I don't want this thread closed.

The first picture shows Princess Maxima and Willem-Allexander at the Opening Ceremony at the parade of Nations. A little bit more boisterous than Charlene's thumbs up, don't you think?! ;)

Having watched the discussion from the sidelines, I can see Hibou's point about differing levels of behaviour for different functions.

But A & C are not really consistent in public: C. because she doesn't seem to know how to behave correctly and appropriately, and A. because he doesn't seem to care very much, as he is a Head of State. No one is going to challenge him about behaviour.

By the way, I read the link to the Italian article, and that spoke of Albert and Charlene who "will marry in September"....

Mandy thank you for providing a second example to the point I was making about behavior expected at a ceremony and behavior at a sports event. The fact that you show another royal doing the same does not make their behavior any more correct. I stand by my opinion.

Boy, this thread sure hasn't gone in the direction I hoped it would when I made it 2 years ago. I guess the days of talk about just Albert and the Olympics are over.

No LadyMac We are talking about Albert and the Olympics. It was his opening behavior at the ceremony that derailed it from the sports aspect that you intended.

Do we have any photos of him visiting athletes are talking with former teammates?

I don't have any of him talking to his former team mates this year if that's what you mean they are all in winter. I have some from training for the Olympics. I'm getting as many as I can find plus looking for articles. It'll be a Charlene free.

Actually the thing that bothered me about those pics, more than the thumbs up, is that Charlene is wearing Monaco's olympic uniform, without being either a Monaco citizen or a member of the delegation...she keeps forgetting she is not Albert's wife yet (and I really hope for monaco that things stay that way, but he seems naive enough to marry her).

I think it very sweet of her to support the Monaco's team that way !
