What does Albert like? Blondes? Brunettes? Both?

He's been romantically linked in the media with all types. :flower:

I agree, Alisa. I thought for a long time that he only liked blondes until I read several bios on the Grimaldis and there were a few dark-haired women who claimed to have been in serious relationships with Albert.

Albert may be photographed with a gorgeous, luscious blonde ... but Albert has not had a serious relationship with a woman since the mid-1980s with the American swimmer, Mary Wayte.

He is more likely a confirmed bachelor. Prince Rainier had the succession law changed for a reason. Prior to the change in the law, Caroline and Stephanie and their descendants would have lost their rights to the throne when Albert succeeded, although the old law allowed for the sovereign prince to adopt an heir. Under the new law, Caroline and Stephanie and their legitimate descendants remain in line to the throne. The sovereign will no longer need to adopt an heir.

Prince Albert is unlikely to marry.

If you go to http://www.palais.mc/ and click on Royal Family, you'll get an idea of what keeps the members of the family busy.

Darn, my recent posts have disappeared! Anyway, I would have to say "all of the above". Albert seems to not discriminate between hair colors or races. In the future when looking back at the "Dated by Albert" club, it might look like a minature United Nations! :P

I have heard it said that he will find a woman in a country which ties her to more than one country with French and English-speaking people, this would naturally increase trade and tourism to Monaco; and she will be bright, intelligent, have weathered great ordeals in life which will make her perfect to handle anything which is thrown at her, she will be talented in her own rights, able to have a business/financial conversation with him and others in his circle, but be able to step back out of the limelight and make him shine even more with her modesty.

He will marry someone with a deep spiritual background, remember, he adored his mother who believed in angels, spirits, astrology, fortune-tellers, and Fate more than anyone else around him. He will look for someone who indulges this part of him as few people are centred and deep enough to be open to this and be well-educated.

She will look more like his sisters than his mother, he has had little luck with blondes and is very, VERY comfortable with his sisters.

This is hard to find and he is still looking for these qualities.

But he is STILL looking and he will find her next year! Just wait and see!

:o)

okay ,i am sorry if my comments were taken wrong, what i meant to say is since albert dates women from all walks of life and social levels i thought it could be possible that someone out here might have a chance to date him. with him running a country i would be surprise if he had a lot of time to surf the net.

Aloha, and yes the weather is nice in Hawaii. We are all just concerned about our friends in the phillipines...

If I had to guess on the PA - CW thing I would say they were just having a good time. He has no reason to marry. Why would any man who can practically pick a woman out of the crowd cramp his own style by getting married? That just puts him line for more scandal.....rumors of cheating etc. etc. He has a family. I also think what Rainer wanted, and the women he approved of, are completely irrelevant at this point.

Oh, Leah..I'm so sorry...I will keep you and your friends in my prayers.

Well, PA kinda, sorta does have a reason to marry -- legitimate heirs of his own. There isn't a crisis in the line of succession but... Yes, I agree getting married for the wrong reasons to perhaps the wrong person could potentially create more problems that it solves, but never discount parental influence.

:p Well, I guess at this point the succession point is resolved.

If PA felt that there was an emergency or something about his not having a legit heir, then he would probably try to fix it. but since he has not done that, then I assume there is no problem.

I just think that he just has not and does not want to get married. Plain and simple. Since he's a prince, however, and the long locked-in tradition is that princes get married, alot of people would never accept it if he said plainly that he does not want to get married. So, he just goes on with his dates and let the people wait and talk as they will.

And that's fine. The situation is resolved so he does not have to do that if he does not ever want to.:p

Imo, I think Albert would like to fall intensely in love. Who wouldn't?? I think, however, he has not married, because either the woman was not appropriate for the position as a princess or she was not willing to fulfill it...even though she may have loved him dearly.

I doubt Albert II really knows what true love is, nor would he had the attention span to cultivate and respect it. His antics speak for themselves that what he wants is just a good time, show off a beautiful gal and move on to the next party. I expected more of him, and then the scandals and the secret life came out before his father, the greatest Prince Monaco ever had, was even laid to rest.
So, if we are looking for a wife for Albert, someone as shallow as him will do. Paris Hilton, anyone? Any bankrupt aristocrat with good looks? Anyone like Kathie (Tom Cruise's) Holmes?

Now on to business: While I'm sure PA likes his bachelor/playboy lifestyle, I'm sure it will get old soon. He doesn't have many peers (married or otherwise) in Europe and those a generation younger have already settled down and married. He knows what he should do, and I think freedom has an excellent point: he has to find a woman who is willing to live life in a gilded cage. That can be a genuine problem.

I wouldn't write Albert off as shallow so quickly. Part of the problem is everyone telling him what kind of person he should marry; another is the legend of the iconoclastic romance of his parents; a third may just be focusing on other areas hasn't allowed one to really put major importance on getting married. As I have said before, I've seen too many of my friends put "get married" on a checklist only to "settle" for the person he/she was with at the time and found that things weren't quite right.

You're so kind pinklady1991. But the fact is that Albert has never even had a long-term, monogamous relationship in his entire life or at least in the last 15 years. Why would he suddently change his life now? His behavior is part of his character, part of who he is as a man. :(

Now, on Albert, I would really like to know what goes on in his mind to be so difficult for him to get married? As a heir of a monarchy, like his counterparts, his duty is to secure the crown. By now his kids should have been older than Stephanie's and younger than Caroline's. Maybe avoiding marriage is a way he used to rebel against his father that somehow ended up out of control. <Edit personal comments/Mandy> So I think this aversion to marriage is an act of rebelliousness he got carried away with, for too long, and now he does not know how to hit the break pedal anymore.

Question Why The Mystery?

I think all the points made in the last few hours could be very plausible reasons. I wonder why we have to guess his reasons for not marrying? I realize it really is none of our business...but what is the reason for his secrecy over this issue?

It's the one part of his life that perhaps he feels is the only private thing he can control.
