Default Forum reorganization

Times are changing - and certain of our forums are growing, thanks to our active members. We've therefore decided that it is time for some minor reorganization regarding the subforums.

We hope that this will ease the browsing at the forums, and give easier access to information and discussion.

This will begin today - and hopefully be finished by Sunday, if everything goes according to the plan. It will be done gradually, one forum at the time, to make sure we don't lose anything.

Feedback is, as always, appreciated.

Thanks for your patience.

We've done some rearranging of the main forum heads, so that the royal families are split into Reigning Houses and Non-Reigning Houses, and the subforums under Non-Reigning Houses are now actual forums. The threads that weren't in specific subforums in Non-Reigning Houses before this change can now be found in the Other Non-Reigning Houses subforum.

We've also split Members' Corner out of Other Things Royal and made it a main category, since it doesn't have any royal content. The subforums from there are also now main forums. Threads which weren't in subforums can now be found in the General Chit Chat subforum of Members' Corner. The Members' Corner forum is still a private forum for members and can't be read by people who aren't logged in.

Also, we're adding subforums for the reigning monarchs and subforums for historical threads to all the main forums that don't already have them. Since some forums did have these subforums and some didn't, we've decided to make things consistent and add them to all the forums. If you can't find a thread about a royal from earlier in the 20th century in the main forum of the country where you're looking, don't assume there isn't one - remember to look in the Royal History subforum, and the chances are that you'll find it there.

Please note that if you have one of the country-specific forums bookmarked, rather than the portal page or the general forum listing, your bookmark might need to be updated if the country in question moves from being a subforum to a main forum or vice versa.

The new articles site is now up and running, and we've added a forum with threads to discuss each article. The forum is here:

http://www.theroyalforums.com/forums/f196/

and the threads are automatically added to the forum by some sort of technological wizardry whenever an article is published at the articles site.

The articles site is here:

We've added a new subforum for Portuguese and Brazilian Royalty in Non-Reigning Houses, and Marengo has volunteered for moderation duty over there. It doesn't have many threads at the moment, but we have plans to add some historical threads. Please feel free to add threads on specific topics as well as the general news threads which are already there.

The subforum is here.

Also, Royal Genealogy is now a forum in its own right in Other Things Royal, rather than being a subforum of Royal Chit Chat.

It can be found here.

There's a new subforum in the Russian forum called Questions of Identity. This subforum is for discussions about the various claims of alleged imperial family survivors of the Russian revolution. Threads about the imperial family itself will remain in the main Russian forum.

Please bear with us as we move threads over to the new forum, which may take a day or two.
