The Niarchos rubies belong to queen Sofia ,it would however be a nice surprise to see Letizia borrowing them from her mother in law.

I agree with you. But still its my guess, of course i would like to see her with the Cartier Loop or Cartier Diamond & Pearl Tiara, but still i guess its her own Tiara or again the Floral Tiara I think the Cartier Diamond & Pearl Tiara would be a nice gesture to Q. Ena, a born Princess of Battenberg, also related to Prince Philip.

I had forgotten about the historic link between Queen Ena and the Cartier Diamond & Pearl Tiara,I think you might have a hunch

But the big Fleur-de-Lys also belonged to Ena, in fact it could be her signature tiara, so I still think it's the safest choice

And I agree that if she debuted it at the Argentinian State Visit it may be because she wanted tl give it her first outing "at home" before taking it to the UK.

I say Fleur de Lys first day, and Floral the second... Of course I hope for a surprise on the second, but I won't place my hopes too high

Not sure if we'll see the Fleur de Lys so soon after the Argentinian State Visit.

Annie I think you might be right about the floral tiara, its a favourite of Letizia's and one that really suits her so I wouldn't be at all surprised.

My guesses for the Spanish state visit:

Letizia: large fleur de lys tiara
Elizabeth: girls of Great Britain tiara
Kate: lovers knot tiara
Camilla: honeycomb tiara

If there is another tiara event:

Letizia: floral tiara
Elizabeth: Queen Mary's fringe tiara
Kate: lotus tiara
Camilla: family tiara

My educated guesses:

Letizia : Large FdL, large collet necklace and earrings (Joyas de Pasar )

QE2: Kokoshnik / GDV/ GGBI, plus diamonds or diamonds and pearls earrings and necklace

Camilla : Greville, collet necklace

Catherine : Lovers Knot

State Dinner

Queen Elizabeth - Burmese Ruby
Queen Letizia - Cartier Loop (or the Cartier Diamond and Pearls. Either way, I think it will be a debut)
Duchess of Cornwall - Honeycomb
(Duchess of Cambridge - Cambridge Lover's)
Countess of Wessex - Wedding
Princess Royal - Festoon
Duchess of Gloucester - Honeysuckle
Princess Michael - Kent Festoon

Guildhall

Queen Letizia - La Chata (just my wishful thinking, it will probably be the Floral)
Princess Royal - Meander
(Duchess of Gloucester - Teck Turquoise)

What is strange: where is the return event from the Spanish guests?

La Chata? What is that?

It's the Mellerio Shell Tiara.
It is also informally known as La Chata because it was a wedding gift for Infanta Isabel from her mother, Queen Isabel II. The Infanta's nickname was La Chata because of her nub nose and so now Spanish royal enthusiasts refer to her tiara as La Chata.

Many thanks Yashal and An Ard Di. Had not realised the Shell tiara was called La Chata.

I don't think Letizia will use the Shell, she has only ever used it once. If she does decide to wear a smaller tiara, it will probably be the Floral tiara.

The Shell Tiara is quite pretty and quite old it seems.

I agree, though I don't think L is a fan as she has only used it once so far.

The Royal Order of Sartorial Splendor: Tiara Thursday: The Mellerio Shell Tiara

The Shell tiara is privately owned by Queen Sofia. I don't see her lending it to Queen Letizia now that Letizia has other tiaras of her own to choose from. In fact, it is not even certain that King Felipe VI will inherit that tiara in the future as Sofia may decide to leave it to one of her daughters.

The floral tiara is also owned by Queen Sofia, and Queen Letizia wore it numerous times. So I don't think that Sofia would mind lending the shell/La Chata. I just think that Letizia infinitely prefers the floral tiara.

My guess: the great fleur-de-lys and the floral tiara for Letizia.
The Queen with the kokoshnik (she won't attend the guildhall banquet)
Camilla the usual honeycomb, Kate with Queen Mary's lovers knot tiara.
Btw, has it been confirmed that the Cambridges will attend the State Banquet?

As of now the official program tells us that the two monarchs and Queen Letizia will be there. I'd say it's quite obvious that the DoE, Charles and Camilla will attend as well. The rest is up for guessing.

Yesterday a Spanish article claimed that the Queen wants the whole Royal family to be there, but they didn't quote any source so I don't know how reliable it is.

I've read the same info in Europa Press which is pretty serious and they quote "diplomatic sources" so I trust the info. But I would like to know what is their idea of "the whole British Royal Family". Seems quite a loose definition to me

As Anne will attend the Guildhall, maybe she will skip the State Dinner and the Cambridges or Wessex will attend instead? Either way I guess we won't know until the very same day...
