I just hope that the Sweden dinners will be white tie, even if the international trend is to deminish tiara occasions. And wouldn't the jubilee year be a splendid excuse for an introduction of the pink tourmaline parure??

I'm not sure it will be as it is so much more low key and we have been made aware that there will be almost no heads of state present. Not even sure how many crown prince/princesses either.

That's just speculations so far. There's a lot we don't know yet about this wedding. As we know it will be a tv broadcasted wedding from the
Royal Palace Church i doubt it will be very low key.

I Think that if its a white tie event Queen Silvia will wear the tourmaline parure (if it has really been bought back), Princess Victoria the sapphire parure and Princess Madeleine the cameo parure

Switch wearer's for the tourmaline parure and the sapphire parure and i think we have a very likely scenario. would be like a dream coming true to see Victoria wearing the dark blue sapphire's but the tiara and necklase in this parure seems to be for "first ladies use only" so I doubt it will happen.

According to the invitation to tomorrow's Sweden Dinner the dress code is "smoking / mörk kostym" = black tie / dark suit.

Hopefully this is the only official dinner with this dress code this year, as the court said at a press release. I want to see tiaras at these dinners.

Looks like a nice and relaxed dinner with the round tables :)

This should be the only black tie dinners each year if i understood the press release right while the other one or two dinners should be the grander white tie dinners in Carl XI:s gallery.

I think and hope that we can see Queen Silvia wear the Braganza Tiara this year. Maybe not for Princess Madeleine's Wedding but for a Gala dinner in connection with the King's Jubilee Year. Let's hope!

both are very big tiaras 'first lady material'

but since the queen wears her sapphires very often to 'ever day' gala events i'd assume she'd wear something special and new/rarely seen/forgotten/bought back for her daughter's wedding, and the sapphires would be new to the crown princess as well

I also think if they have really bought the pink tormalines back that it will be debuted by Siliva at Madeleines Wedding. But i don't think Victoria willwear the sapphire before seh either becomes Queen of First Lady. Since her marriage it has been exclusively worn by Silvia and before only be either the reigning Queen or the First Lady. Queen Louise wore it as Crown Princess but only after death of Queen Victoria and Princess Sibilly wore it also only after the death of Queen Louise. They only who doesn't fit in this Category is Princess Birgitta who wore it at the evening before the Wedding of Carl Gustaf and Silvia.

I share your views on the Sapphire tiara,I am sure Victoria won´t wear it before she´s becoming Queen.IMO it is also too overpowering for a young woman, but the sapphire necklace would suit her very well.
The tourmaline tiara is one of my favourites,I would be happy to see it again:-)

I quite agree. The Branganca and the Leuchtenberg sapphires are the only two tiaras which have been exclusively worn by Queen Silvia since her wedding. The queen has shared all other tiaras quite generously with her daughters and sisters-in-law. But these two biggest tiaras will be worn by Victoria before she becomes the first lady.

On the other hand I have high hopes that the pink tourmaline tiara will be "broken in" this year, either at Madeleine's wedding or at the jubilee gala (I really hope that they are planning a big magpie gala).

i believe that Maxima will wear either the Stuart Tiara or the Mellerio Sapphire Tiara for her husband's investure day.
i cant see Maxima wearing her mother-in-laws wedding tiara, The Pearl Tiara, at the investure.

as for the Swedish ladies, the Branganza and Leuchtenberg Sapphire Tiaras scream QUEEN to me, either reigning or consort. unfortunately i believe that Victoria will not wear these until shes Queen (i believe she will choose either of them for her enthronement one day). but Queen Silvia has more tiaras that Victoria didnt wear yet, i think she should let her daughter wear freely some more stunning jewels.

for the wedding of Madeleine, Madeleine will probably wear the Cameo (though i think its not her style) or a tiara she hasnt worn yet.
and one thing that im anxiously waiting to see, its the pink tourmaline Tiara. i would love to see Victoria wearing this beautiful Tiara this year (either for Madeleine's wedding, King Carl Gustaf celebrations or the Nobles)

My guess is that we will only see Victoria wear the Leuchtenberg sapphires and the Braganzia tiara as Crown Princess would be in the case should Queen Silvia pass away before the King, and therefore Victoria would be the First lady.
And i agree Silvia should let victoria also wear some of the other tiaras like the nine-pronge or the connaught tiara

Victoria might wear the sapphire tiara if Silvia passes away before the King. But I don't think that she'll wear the Branganza in that case. It's so much of a whopper, that I think she'll don it only after she has been Queen for a couple of years. Maybe she'll copy Beatrix and the Stuart parure and not wear it at all ?

I just realized that the ruby tiara is another one which Silvia hasn't shared so far. But then it hasn't been in her vault for too long, possibly in order to avoid tensions with the previous owners. It would look nice on Victoria, I remember seeing a photoshop of her with the rubies.

As for Maxima and the investiture: As much as I'd love to see the Stuart parure come out of the vaults, I don't think we'll see it so soon. Beatrix and Juliana wore low key jewellery for their own investitures, so I think Maxima will do the same.

This will be an exciting year, don't you agree?

indeed a very interesting year, apart from the usual state visits, official visits, representation dinners and nobels there's going to be an investiture, 3 royal weddings, a jubilee and queen silvia's 70th birthday!!!!!!!!!! i think its going to be the sparkliest since 1953

Wow, hadn't even realized the 70th birthday!
Speaking about weddings, here is my guess:

Madeleine will wear the cameo and she'll look gorgeous with it.

Claire Ladenmacher is difficult to guess, as there are so many tiaras in Luxembourg. But I think it will be one of the floral tiaras, preferably the large one.

Tatiana strikes me as girl who doesn't go with conventions. So I don't think that she'll don a tiara. But it'll be a long wait till we know. The wedding is only planned for next year, iirc.

Actually Juliana wasn't to low key with Jewllery at her Investitur. She wore the huge stomacher from the Mellerio ruby parure and the necklace from the peacock ruby parure.

Personally I would love Princess Madelein to wear the Cannaught Diamond Tiara,it looks absolutely stunning on her and she has worn it at Victoria´s wedding in June, 2010.As her sisters marriage is a very happy one I hope that the tiara will bring good fortune to Princess Madeleine too:-)I am not very superstitious but at a wedding you can´t be careful enough & every detail bears a significant meaning.
