Doesn't the fringe tiara (#1) now belong to Madeleine? If it does I wonder if we'll see Sofia wear it to her wedding.
It seems she does, although there isn't a straightforward confirmation for it. And even if she doesn’t own the modern fringe tiara it seems to be exclusive to Madeleine. I’ll eat my hat if Sofia wears this one, it is so much associated with Madeleine.

Those photoshops are great! It’s much easier to imagine now. The Baden fringe looks great on her, and I am surprised how well the comparatively high ruby tiara looks on her head.

The more I think of it, the more I hope that Sofia will receive her own tiara. It seems the Madde got her own, at least she doesn’t have to share the modern fringe (the Queen hasn’t worn it since 2010). Several tiaras seem to be mostly reserved for CP Victoria (Baden fringe, the two cut steels) or the Queen (Braganza, Leuchtenberg, nine prongs, Connaught, ruby). For the really big events some of these tiaras are shared out to other ladies, but there will be a lot of representation dinners, state banquets, the second night of the Nobels, when Sofia could well use her own go-to tiara.

Those two tiaras which seem always to be available for sharing are the two button tiaras. But with her own pearl tiara stolen, Princess Christina usually wears one of them. The pool of tiaras seems to be fairly well divided between the ladies already. And to be honest, I’d really hate to always see Sofia with the button tiaras, they are just not made for straight long hair like hers.

That said, I think that she might still wear a Bernadotte tiara for her wedding. Maybe she’ll receive her own tiara for the birth of a child?

I agree. Silvia, Victoria, Madeleine and Christina seems to have an agreement on who should wear wich tiara .....

Silvia : Braganza Tiara, Cameo Tiara, Sapphire Tiara, Nine prong tiara and the connaught Diamond and Ruby tiaras.

Victoria : Baden fringe Tiara, Laurel wreath Tiara, The Large and Small Cut steel tiaras, Amethyst Tiara.

Madeleine : Modern Fringe Tiara, Amethyst Tiara, 4-button Tiara.

Christina : 6-button Tiara, 4-button Tiara.

.........so they will likely sometimes have to share with Sofia (probably Victoria and Christina) but the best solution for Sofia would be if the King bought her a tiara at an auction like Queen Margrethe did for Mary. Then she'll have something of everything in her "private" jewel box. She probably already has a lot of jewels and Carl Philip inherited all jewels Lilian had that wasn't specifically testamented to anyone else .

I would love to see her wear the Fringe tiara. Quite beautiful.

Maybe she will surprise us and choose Queen Sofia's diadem. It seems fitting with her name and Queen Silvia might be willing to loan it to her. I hear it's a little uncomfortable but I've seen it both on the Queen and Princess Birgitta with no complaints.

I go for a new one......that the Prince disgns for her

If CP doesn't gift Sofia with a new tiara maybe he will buy her new earrings or a necklace (depending on her dress) for the big day. That seems to be a theme with royal princes now a days.

I think

Connaught Tiara and if not that tiara i think Laurel Tiara

If his recent dish designs are anything to go by, that could be a very strange looking tiara. But it would be his gift to her, so I say let him go for it.

Sofia would look good in any of the tiaras.

As for the tableware for kids, I think they are cute.

Okay so I was playing around with some pictures and came up with this:

I have to say I like all of these on Sofia. If I really had to pick a favourite, it'd be the Connaught.

Having looked at these, I actually like the 6 button and amethyst on her best. And I think the amethyst would be interesting and unique.

Great job Kelly. As much as I love any fringe I'm surprised at how much I like the 4 button on her.

Nice work! I have to agree about the amethyst tiara + the Connaught. And yes, maybe even the 4-button. Maybe it's the fact that I've never seen her in a tiara that makes me want her to wear something that isn't so high on her head?

I still think it will be the Connaught Diamond tiara or the Cameo tiara but i would love to see a tiara with coloured Stones being used for a Wedding so i kind of wish it would be the amethyst tiara or the sapphire tiara

I hope the King (or Carl Philip) will buy her a new tiara, to be used on her wedding day and to be used for the white tie events she will attend.
It seems that Madeleine has received the modern fringe tiara (considering that in the last years she's the only one who has worn it, even on her wedding day, i think it's possible), so maybe the King wants his younger children to have a new tiara each, to leave the most important ones to the Queen and to the Crown Princess.

It is a nice little tiara, but it belongs to Princess Desiree. I can imagine that Princess Christiana could borrow it from her sister, like she borrowed the tiara of Princess Margareta. But I really don't see Desiree selling her tiara to her brother so that Sofia can have it. Even if Desiree does not wear it often I can't imagine that she will part with her tiara during her lifetime.

There was also an article at Svensk Damtidning a month ago. Swedish specialists were giving their views, they were wondering if Sofia would wear a new tiara.
Tomas Persson, a jewellery expert at Stockholms Auktionsverk, said that there are five-six diadems sold in a year in Sweden. Two or three of these are normally little more exclusive with diamonds and gems. Sometimes there comes also an empire diadem of gold and for instance amethysts.
Sophia Åkerlund, jewellery expert at Bukowskis Auktioner said: The amount of tiaras auctioned at us varies, but I would say two to four in a year. Everything from diadems in metal and cheap stones with just a couple of thousand SEK, to bigger diadems or tiaras in silver and gold with diamonds, pearls or other gems, which are sold at a price with many hundred thousand SEK. The second hand markets are the best way to find a diadem. Then it has a history, and you don’t have to pay very much money compared to if you make a totally new diadem. The smaller diadems with diamonds are popular at spring weddings, and like Sofia did in Nobels, she can wear a hair pin or brooch at her hairdo.
And this is what the experts said:
Tomas Persson from Stockholms Auktionsverk
- It Is difficult to say what Sofia will wear. It is not certain that she will have the cameo tiara, or some of the bigger tiaras. Maybe something smaller which we haven’t seen so often.
Sophia Åkerlund from Bukowskis Auktioner
- I think that Sofia will have a private diadem, just like princess Madeleine. But if she wears a diadem from the Bernadotte collections, I hope that she wears princess Sibylla’s diadem (it is my personal favorite) and I think that she would look unbelievably beautiful in that.
Johanna Pietsch from J & The Jewels
- I would say that it is not certain that she will have a diadem. The royal diadems, like the cameo tiara or the Brazilian tiara are not actual because she is not a royal yet. One can make a fantastic hairdo with pearls like a diadem, or some more simple diadem or bracelet to be put to the hair like a diadem.

It's not all too often that we see royal brides in colored stone tiaras, but I have to agree that the amethyst tiara would be a great choice.

I am a fan of the cameo for Sofia on her wedding day being that it is a "tiara of love".

We day color tiaras with the Anjou wedding (pink and purple gens), a German wedding (turquoise). I am sure that there plenty of others. I think Sofia should add to the mix. How cool would it be! Not to mention the amethyst tiara would look lovely on her.

Imo the amethyst tiara looks to heavy and solid to look good on a bride. But of course that is only my imagination because we have never seen this jewel with a wedding veil.

It's only three weeks now, then we will see which of our speculations were correct! I really fee my curiosity rising:flowers:.

I've always hoped she'd wear the Amethyst tiara. It would be unusual, but if styled correctly would be absolutely stunning on Sofia.

IMO amongst the tiaras in possession of the SRF today the Connaught tiara would suit Sofia the best for her wedding.

I think she will definitely wear a tiara. I hope that Carl does not design it looking at the monogram and the dishes he designed.

It is the most "fairytale" tiara in the bunch and I have to admit it would look fantastic with a fluffy, filmy veil on top of Sofia's head.

Princess Lillian's Laurel, while more "structured" also echos that romantic vibe. So I'm guessing the Connaught is the most probable, but a small part of me would like to see Princess Lillian's Laurel, for sentimental reasons.

I voted for Sofia to wear a new tiara.

I like the fringe tiaras but I eliminated them because they are both so strongly associated with Victoria and Madeleine.

The six button tiara is sneaking up on me as my favorite of the existing tiaras.

I don't like the cameo tiara in general but it looked so amazing on Victoria on her wedding day! I can see Sofia choosing that one because it has been the bridal tiara for previous brides, even ones who were not slated to be future queens, but Victoria may have "ruined" it for future brides given how well she pulled it off.

I have always hated both of the button tiaras but somehow I've now started to see the four button as an option. Maybe a very good stylist could make it feel like flowers and somehow bring it out as a flowery, summery tiara for a young, pretty bride?

Given the history i hold the Cameo tiara and the Connaught Diamond tiara as favourites. Though the baden fringe tiara would work very well as a bridal tiara too.

My guess is that Prince Carl Philip have designed a tiara especially for her with diamonds already in the royal family collection. She will then start her royal life with a tiara all her own.

I agree. He may well have designed a diadem that is completely new. I think Carl Philip won't want Sofia to be perpetually borrowing tiaras from the Royal collection or wearing a tiara as a bride that's more associated with her sisters in law. I don't think Sonia will wear coloured stones on her wedding day. If she does wear a tiara from the collection I vote for the Baden Fringe or, a long shot, the Laurel.

Of course she may wear a headpiece that is completely different, flowers perhaps or, like Charlene of Monaco, a large diamond brooch!
